Happy holidays, AllEars Readers! Yes, believe it or not, the Disney holiday season is here.
And we are ready for it! But that’s not the only thing that’s happened this week in Disney news. And in case you missed anything, we’ve got a quick rundown of the biggest Disney news stories of the week.
Holidays at Disney World
The holiday season has arrived in full force at Disney World. Although we saw holiday decor go up early at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the decorations at Magic Kingdom went up as of November 1st! And it’s amazing how the park transforms from Halloween to the holidays in just one night. Also, the Jungle Cruise has received its holiday overlay — the Jingle Cruise has returned.
The Return of More Club Level Rooms at Disney World
Things are returning to normal at Disney World. Early next year (which isn’t that far away!), guests will be able to book club level rooms at three more resorts: Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
The Club Level lounge will reopen at Yacht Club on January 20th, at Beach Club on January 27th, and at the Polynesian on February 3rd. Previously, Disney announced that Club Level rooms would be reintroduced at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, with their lounges reopening on December 16th. Club Level lounges just recently reopened at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
A New Hotel Opens at Disney World
And speaking of hotels, the brand new Walt Disney World Swan Reserve Hotel has officially opened its doors to guests. The 14-story hotel, which sits next to the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, has 349 guest rooms, including 151 suites, with all rooms featuring floor-to-ceiling windows for some of the best views at Disney World.
Like the Swan and Dolphin, guests staying at the Swan Reserve are within walking distance of both EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. It also has four new restaurants, including Amare, a signature Mediterranean restaurant.
Hocus Pocus 2 Update
Sure, it’s the holiday season, but we’re already looking forward to the release of a new Halloween movie next year, Hocus Pocus 2. The film is officially in production in Rhode Island with director Anne Fletcher. Hocus Pocus 2 will premiere exclusively on Disney+ in the fall of 2022.
Disney also made an additional casting announcement about the film: while the trio of actresses portraying the Sanderson Sisters will return, the movie will also include Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham, Belissa Escobedo, Doug Jones, Tony Hale, Sam Richardson, Hannah Waddingham, Juju Brener, Froy Gutierrez, Taylor Henderson, and Nina Kitchen.
Trailer for Boba Fett Series
And speaking of Disney+, the highly-anticipated Mandalorian spin-off series, The Book of Boba Fett officially has a trailer now! The Book of Boba Fett follows the story of Boba Fett after the events of his appearance on The Mandalorian. Temuera Morrison will reprise his role as Boba Fett, with Ming-Na Wen joining him.
The series will premiere on Disney+ on December 29th.
