Disneyland has so much history as the first Disney Park to debut around the world. And, one of the spots in the park that has been around since the beginning is Carnation Café on Main Street, U.S.A.!
The restaurant has been on the quiet side since Disneyland has reopened, but the parks revealed that guests would be able to return soon! And, the day is finally here for us to take a step back in time and into Carnation Cafe once again!
Carnation Café is open for breakfast from 8AM to 11AM and lunch from 11:20AM to 2PM only before its doors close for the day. You might know Carnation Cafe from its famous menu items like the Fried Pickles and Walt’s Favorite Chili. But, the restaurant is also introducing new items like the Parmesan-crusted Patty Melt or the Short Rib with homemade Mac and Cheese in honor of its reopening, along with returning fan-favorites.
For Carnation Café, it’s highly recommended that you have an Advance Dining Reservation. However, you can also get a same-day or even walk-in reservation if you’re lucky (today, we were able to walk in and get a seat!). Without further ado, let’s get into it!
Guests have so many options to choose from at Carnation Cafe from sweet to savory and even healthy lighter fare! Options like the Breakfast Skillet, Buttermilk Pancakes, and even the Plant-based Overnight Oats will be a hit for everyone in your party.
Kids’ meals are also available, where the children in your party can pick the Silver Dollar Pancakes, Mickey Waffles, or Mickey Scrambled Eggs as their entrée with two sides of either the Seasonal Fruit, Applewood-smoked Bacon, or Breakfast Potatoes.
Breakfast also comes with a few unique beverages, like the Cinnamon-spiced Hot Cocoa to pair with your morning meal!
Lunch has quite a few more options than breakfast with a variety of soups, salads, and starters to begin your afternoon.
For an entrée, there are gourmet burgers, sandwiches, and more, including the Parmesan Toasted Patty Melt, Braised Short Rib, and Roasted Turkey Club Sandwich.
It wouldn’t be a great meal without dessert to finish! And, guests can try the Apple Pie à la Mode or the Seasonal Cheesecake during their visit.
Kids’ meal options are also available, whether they’d like the PB&J Disney Check Meal or the build-your-own choice. Some other picks off the menu include a Hamburger, Mac & Cheese, or Chicken Fried Chicken as an entrée…
…with two sides, including Seasonal Fruit, French Fries, Seasonal Vegetable, or Mashed Potatoes.
We stopped by Carnation Café for lunch! We started off with the Baked Potato Soup topped with Fried Potato, Bacon, Cheddar, Monterey Jack, Sour Cream, and Chives for $8.
Then, we got the Fried Pickles, which are Hand-battered Panko Fried Dill Pickles with House Sauce for $8.
The last starter was essential! Walt’s Chili, which is a Hearty Chili topped with Cheese, Sour Cream, Chives, and a Corn Bread Garnish, is available for $9.
The first entreé we tried today was the Roast Turkey Club Sandwich, which has Freshly Sliced Turkey, Applewood-smoked Bacon, Vine-ripened Tomatoes, Monterey Jack, Lettuce, Avocado Mayo, and Lemon Aïoli on Toasted Sourdough served with your choice of fresh Fruit or Seasoned French Fries for $14.
The second entreé we tried was the Braised Short Rib with House-made Mac & Cheese and Seasonal Vegetables for $23!
Finally, we ended the meal with Apple Pie A La Mode with Vanilla Ice Cream and Caramel Sauce for $9!
Carnation Cafe is a pretty great value meal, especially if you’re looking to take a break from exploring Disneyland. Breakfast costs about $14.99 or under per person, while lunch is about $15 to $34.99 per person! If you’re looking for a lovely sit-down experience right on Main Street, you’ll want to pop into Carnation Cafe. And, you can stay tuned with AllEars for the latest Disney entertainment and news!
