Wonder Woman 1984 was originally set to premiere in theaters on June 2nd, 2020.

However, given the ongoing closures of movie theaters across the country and worldwide, the release date was first pushed back several times. The most recent delay was announced back in September, when the movie was given a new premiere date of December 25th.

The news comes as several theater chains, including Regal Cinemas, have announced plans to temporarily close again. With Wonder Woman 1984 available both in theaters and on HBO Max on December 25th, fans will have several options to enjoy the new movie!

10-15 years ago I would have scoffed at the idea of watching a movie at home instead of in a theater. But my theater experience the past 2-3 years has changed that view. I’m willing to trade off the “big screen” experience if means missing the talking and mobile device use that has become the norm in theaters. It’s just not the immersive experience it used to be. I’ve got a 60 inch screen and a full surround system, so I’m good at home.
