FIRST LOOK: New Christmas Comedy ‘Godmothered’ Will Be Coming to Disney+ This December

As much as we love Disney parks, the Walt Disney Company’s original talent was making movies — something they’re still great at today!

We love curling up on our couch to binge all of our favorites on Disney+! They’ve stocked up the streaming service with some great original shows and movies, as well as some Disney classics. And, in December, an original Christmas movie will be arriving on the platform!

On Friday, December 4th, Godmothered, an all-new Disney Christmas comedy will be premiering on Disney+. The movie will feature Isla Fisher and Jillian Bell and will debut exclusively on the streaming platform.

The film stars Bell as a fairy godmother-in-training who finds out that her job may become extinct. Finding a letter from a 10-year-old girl who needs help, Eleanor (Jillian Bell’s character) attempts to track her down. Upon reaching her destination, Eleanor discovers that the young girl is now a widowed 40-year-old single mom (Isla Fisher).

Eleanor becomes determined to bring happiness to Mackenzie’s (Isla Fisher) life — whether Mackenzie wants it or not. The movie is sure to be a hilarious tale, perfect for a Christmas movie night!

Godmothered is directed by Sharon Maguire (“Bridget Jones’s Diary,” “Bridget Jones’s Baby”) and produced by Justin Springer (“Dumbo,” “TRON: Legacy”). The movie’s original soundtrack will also be available on December 4th, on all streaming formats. We’re excited for this new holiday film — since it’s made by Disney, it’s sure to be great!
