Recently Universal delayed their construction of Epic Universe due to the park closures.

The construction of the theme park was delayed due to financial constraints. However, according to the Orlando Sentinel, today, Orange County will be voting on a number of credits and tax breaks to local businesses. Universal Orlando are among those that could receive financial help. Universal could receive up to $5 million in credits to be applied to some future utility connection charges. In order to open Epic Universe a giant pipeline will have to be moved and they can apply the credit to that.

Orange County has already agreed to give up to $125 million to Universal as assistance for paying for a new road to the new theme park. “Orange County has determined the developer’s improvements will provide certain public benefits including, but not limited to, enhanced tax revenues, enhanced wastewater fees, and increased employment opportunities,” wrote Raymond Hanson, Orange County’s director of utilities in a memo recommending that Orange County agree to the $5 million credit.
