In addition to offering carriage rides, sleigh rides, and riding lessons the horses of Tri-Circle-D Ranch were enlisted to help pull the iconic Dragon Calliope to it’s new home at the Ranch.

The Dragon Calliope is an historic horse-drawn musical instrument that was first purchased by Walt Disney for the Mickey Mouse Club Circus Parade in Disneyland in the 1950’s. On special occasions the Calliope is brought out to entertain everyone with a tune.

For horse enthusiasts, there is no better place to visit than Tri-Circle-D Ranch at the Fort Wilderness Resort. They provide housing and care for all of the various horses in the parks, from the ones in parades to the ones that pull the carriages in Port Orleans.

We can’t wait to check out the barn ourselves and see the Dragon Calliope up close!
