Childless Millennial Going to Disney? These are the Resorts for You!

Walt Disney World is a perfect vacation destination for the young and the young-at-heart.  There are few places on Earth that can cater to so many different ages and generations.

For those of you so-called ‘childless millennials’, AKA those born between the years of 1981-1996 who aren’t traveling with kids in tow, there are some great resort options for you to consider. While we think EVERY Disney World resort can be a great fit for just about everyone, there are a few you may want to look at more closely!

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn

Steps away from World Showcase, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn tops our list of resorts that adults love! This fun, lively atmosphere has plentiful dining options, shopping, and entertainment. Stop by Jellyrolls Dueling Piano Bar or AbracadaBar for drinks and a rousing good time! The resort truly comes alive at night and has lots of activities to do.

BoardWalk Inn & Villas

BoardWalk Inn is also minutes away from the International Gateway to Epcot, where you’ll find yourself in the middle of some of Disney World’s best food and beverage options (and one of the World’s five Skyliner stations!).

World Showcase Lagoon

If you want to stay at a somewhat quieter resort but still have instant access to the BoardWalk, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort are both steps away! These resorts are also in close proximity to Epcot and are a short walk away from all the bustling activity at the Boardwalk Inn.

Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort

If you’re looking for a quieter escape from the parks, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort is a great option if you are traveling without young children. One of the biggest benefits of Saratoga Springs is its proximity to Disney Springs. Depending on which building your room is located in, you can be minutes away from bars, restaurants, and shopping!

The vibe at Saratoga Springs is also pretty laid back in comparison to some of the other resorts you may find throughout Disney World. Its sprawling layout may be a turnoff to many guests, but the fact that its buildings are so spread out could make for a quiet oasis of sorts. At the end of a long day in the parks, stop by your room and take a stroll over to grab a drink at Disney Springs!

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort

Whether you choose to stay at Riverside or French Quarter, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort offers a more budget-friendly option for the childless millennial. It offers great dining and entertainment options within the resort itself, plus you are just a short boat ride away from Disney Springs!

Each night, you can choose between the shopping and dining of Disney Springs, or lay low and stick around the resort. You can check out Scat Cat’s Club for a couple of drinks and enjoy the show (especially if Yehaa Bob is around!).

  1. Nice article, but there’s one minor correction I want to make: While Yeeha Bob does perform at the Port Orleans Resort on certain nights, he’s always at the River Roost Lounge, not at the Scat Cats Club. Scat Cats has live entertainment that’s worth checking out also; just don’t go there expecting to see Yeeha Bob. He’s in the Riverside section of the resort, whereas Scat Cats is in the French Quarter section.

  2. If you can get the restaurant reservation you want prior to arriving since most good ones book up 6 months out. Go early and sit at bar. You can order full menu without reservation.

  3. Hubby and I just booked our first Disney trip together! No kids, wanted to go before having kids once! Staying at CBR since we don’t mind the walking!Hoping we love it!
