It is HOT in Disney World right now, but that’s just a typical summer in the parks. Now, Annual Passholders and DVC members get nice air-conditioned lounges to hang out in throughout the year, but now, there’s a nice air-conditioned lounge open for EVERYONE, and just in time for summer.

Light Lounge has officially opened in EPCOT, and we’re going inside and trying out some of the snacks available there.
Light Lounge is interesting in that it just kind of turned up quietly at the Odyssey building without any kind of fanfare or notice from Disney. It was just…there. Well, now it’s open, and it’s a lounge where EPCOT visitors can take a break from the heat, as well as order up some snacks. It’s also a unique space to hang out, with techno music playing in the background and a rainbow prism-inspired color scheme throughout. The good news is there are plenty of places to sit.

If you’re lucky, you might even catch a performance of “The Glow Show,” which is a fun stunt show with performers wearing glow sticks, although the glow sticks aren’t as effective during the day when the Light Lounge’s windows let so much light in. However, it was a fun show with a lot of interaction for the kids.

We do get the feeling that the space isn’t completely done yet, as there are still some ropes up in certain spaces. It’s likely that with the extreme heat in Florida, Disney wanted to go ahead and open up the space to give EPCOT visitors an air-conditioned space for a break.

There’s a small counter with an equally small menu serving up beverages like soft drinks, water, frozen slushes, and more, as well as a few food items.

Here’s the food menu:
- Chicken Strips with French Fries for $10.99
- Apple-Caramel Churro Bites with Vanilla Dipping Sauce for $6.99
- Caramel Popcorn Churro Bites for $6.49
We ordered the Apple-Caramel Churro Bites with Vanilla Dipping Sauce for $6.99. Now, we know Disney World churros are generally disappointing, so how did these fare? Well, they did not work for us at all.

The churros somehow managed to stay crispy despite all that whipped cream topping, and they had a gooey apple cinnamon filling on the inside. However, the filling tasted so artificial that we could only handle a few bites.

We also ordered the Caramel Popcorn Churro Bites for $6.49. These didn’t wow us either. The churros did stay crunchy, although they were LOADED with whipped cream and caramel sauce, but the popcorn on top was stale. Inside was a caramel sauce that was just way too sweet.

Overall, we thought the food offerings were pretty boring and safe, and maybe not even really well thought out. It feels like this is just something to tide people over until the next festival, when this space will be used for festival offerings.

So, yes, the Light Lounge is open in the Odyssey Building, so if you’re looking for a place to take a nice, cool break in EPCOT, you might want to head over there when you get a chance.
We’ll keep an eye out for more openings in Disney World, so check back with AllEars again soon for more.
