If you’re headed to Disneyland soon, don’t expect to ride this popular attraction…

If you feel like the Disneyland Resort is always changing, you’re not imagining things. Expansion projects are underway, and ride upgrades are almost always happening. In fact, a big one is about to happen to a popular ride in Mickey’s Toontown — and the ride’s closure could last a long while.
We’re always keeping on top of the Disney Parks refurbishment schedules, and it appears that a major attraction is closing March 30th without a reopening date listed.

Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin is closing for a potentially lengthy refurbishment. While there has been no notice of any narrative or major changes like the one a few years back when Jessica Rabbit got a makeover, Disney could be taking its time with structural, electrical, and effects-based upgrades.

As of this writing, no reopening date has been announced (as previously stated), so that means Disney could drag this out — or reopen the ride quickly without much of a wait. At this time, any refurbishment timeline is pure speculation.

This ride usually garners a decent wait since it’s fairly family-friendly. You get to ride in a spinning taxi cab as you follow Roger Rabbit and Benny the Cab as they try to help Jessica Rabbit take the villainous Weasels from Who Framed Roger Rabbit — the beloved film that expertly blended live-action with animation in a fun “whodunit” tale.

Additionally, March 30th will also see the closure of the Disneyland Monorail — which also lacks a reopening date.

The Monorail closes for refurbishment often for safety inspections and necessary upgrades — and after a recent incident that left riders stranded, this is a refurbishment that’ll get no pushback from us.

The monorail goes between Downtown Disney and Tomorrowland, so if you were planning on using this method of transportation as a shortcut during your next vacation, you’ll want to make the necessary adjustments.
