Would you go slightly out of your way at Disney World for something exclusive?

Disney World’s hotels are full of tiny details and lesser-known offerings that don’t get much attention. And this latest find isn’t flashy, and it’s easy to overlook, but it’s exactly the sort of discovery that makes wandering beyond the parks worthwhile.
Every once in a while, Disney World sneaks in something that feels like it’s meant for people who really like to poke around, and this is one of those things! Hiding in a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine outside Wailulu Bar & Grill is an exclusive soda flavor you won’t find anywhere else on property: Island Time Fizz, and yes, there’s also a Zero Sugar version.

This drink lives at the Freestyle machine near Wailulu at Island Tower, and there are only two ways to get it. You can either use a refillable Disney resort mug or you can purchase a paper cup from Wailulu for $6.17, which is exactly what we did (during breakfast hours). One important thing to know up front, though, is that the Freestyle machine will not let you pour unless it detects an activated chip. So no random cups, no water bottles, no sneaky refills for you — the machine’s sensor has to read that chip before it even lets you choose a drink.

Also, full transparency: this wasn’t some accidental discovery on our part. We spotted this drink floating around on social media a few weeks ago and immediately added it to our mental list of “things we need to try next time we’re over there.”
Flavor-wise, both versions are essentially POG-flavored Sprite, which is made up of passion fruit, orange, and guava layered into a lemon-lime base. And from our experience, that part checks out! But what surprised us is that the two versions tasted noticeably different from each other, and we don’t know if that was intentional or just the Freestyle machine doing Freestyle machine things.

The regular Island Time Fizz came across as more Sprite-forward. It looked bubblier, stayed fizzy longer, and leaned heavier on that classic lemon-lime flavor. The tropical POG notes were there, but more underneath — like a hint of something tropical rather than the main event. It was sweeter overall and felt more like a traditional soda with a subtle Disney twist.

The Zero Sugar version, on the other hand, went in the opposite direction. The bubbles didn’t last quite as long visually, but it tasted more carbonated, almost like there was more soda water in the mix. This one was much heavier on the POG. Passion fruit and guava were front and center, with Sprite coming in at the end for a little citrus snap. It was significantly less sweet and honestly drank more like POG juice mixed with sparkling water (which we didn’t hate at all)!

If we had to pick, we slightly preferred the regular version, buuuut if you’re someone who really loves POG, the Zero Sugar might actually be the better choice. That said, the difference between the two was just confusing enough that we couldn’t rule out the machine being a little off that day.

One last thing worth knowing, too, is that if you buy the paper cup from Wailulu, it’s good for three refills within one hour, which makes this feel like a pretty decent value. Especially if you want to try both versions back to back and decide for yourself!
Overall, we’re pleased to confirm this new exclusive Disney World soda flavor, and we’re already plotting our next trip back to impress our friends with our newfound POG-flavored soda. We’re always keeping up with the latest Disney World news, updates, and more, so be sure to stick around so you don’t miss a thing.
