NEWS: Disney Announces MORE Major CHANGES Hitting Animal Kingdom

We’ve got some big menu updates for Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

As you know, Disney World is closing DINOLAND USA in phases — to make way for an all-NEW land, Pueblo Esperanza.

We just found out that a couple of snack stands will be closing in Animal Kingdom as the construction moves forward. Trilo-Bites and Dino-Bite Snacks will permanently close on October 20th.

Trilo Bites

The last day you will be able to pick up Buffalo Chicken Chips and Dole Whip Floats at Trilo-Bites, or Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches at Dino-Bite Snacks will be October 19th.

The Disney World website has been updated to reflect these changes. Here’s the word on Trilo Bites…

It’s official.

…and Dino-Bite Snacks.

Goodbye, Dino-Bites!

Harambe Market will also be closing — temporarily on October 20th. No, that’s not in DINOLAND USA, BUT it’s all related here. Harambe Market is closing to add some equipment needed for it to start serving burgers and chicken strips. You see, Restaurantosaurus — the popular DINOLAND location that is our go-to in Animal Kingdom for these items — is closing permanently on February 2nd.

So, Harambe Market will be picking up the slack. Disney says Harambe Market should reopen in early 2026 (presumably right around the time Restaurantosaurus is closing).

This closure is only temporary!

NOW, what’s a Buffalo Chicken Chips or Dole Whip Float-loving Disney fan to do? Fortunately, Disney is keeping us in mind and moving some of these items to other locations in the park. Whew!

Buffalo Chicken Chips

Our beloved Buffalo Chicken Chips will move to Eight Spoon Cafe on Discovery Island. If you haven’t had them before, we’re so glad you’ll still get the chance! These are housemade chips like you’ll find in many Disney World locations, topped with buffalo chicken, blue cheese dressing, and tomato and celery relish.

Mmmmmmm

Warung Outpost in Asia will begin serving a variety of Dole Whip floats — we’re guessing they will be the ones currently offered at Trilo Bites. Those include the Rafiki Wildberry and Dole Whip Orange float, and customizable floats with your choice of Dole Whip flavors and Coke, Diet Coke or other fountain sodas.

Since Harambe Market is closing for a bit, Kusafiri Bakery in Africa is going to start opening for lunch, and you’ll find the Harambe Chicken Rice Bowl there. And there will be some new items there we can’t wait to try — a Harissa Chicken Wrap, and a plant-based Picadillo Rice Bowl.

As for those cookie ice cream sandwiches from Dino-Bite Snacks — we’re HOPING they will come back to Animal Kingdom soon. For now, we know that hand-scooped ice cream will return to the park in February. Until then, you can get soft-serve ice cream, floats and sundaes at Tamu Tamu Refreshments and Anandapur Ice Cream Truck.
