The Reason This EPCOT Norway Pavilion Restaurant Is NEVER Empty

One of Disney World’s best and most consistent character dining experiences is tucked away in EPCOT, but that hasn’t stopped it from earning some high praise.

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in EPCOT’s Norway pavilion is a character Storybook Dining experience that features Norwegian-inspired fare for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in an all-you-care-to-enjoy fashion. Oh, and you get to meet some of your favorite Disney Princesses, to boot. So what, exactly, do people think of this restaurant? Let’s look at the AllEars reviews left by YOU, the readers!

As of this writing, on our website, Akershus holds an 8.48 out of 10 rating on 50 reviews for its breakfast service, while the lunch and dinner services hold a 7.55 out of 10 on 78 reviews.

For breakfast, lots of reviews commented on how cool it is to see your favorite Disney Princess and how tasty the food is (although, since it is Norwegian-inspired, picky eaters could struggle here).

Some readers even lauded the restaurant as the best character dining experience in Disney World, and one of the best buffets, as well!

However, as someone pointed out, this restaurant is so consistently reliable that it can get kinda busy.

As for the lunch and dinner services, a lot of the reviews were consistent with breakfast. Being able to meet the princesses is truly unforgettable, and the food is good, yet too adventurous for some.

One note we saw pop up again and again is something we always say — you get better bang for your buck here versus the pricier Cinderella’s Royal Table in Magic Kingdom.

Cinderella’s Royal Table

When we pointed out the main differences between the two, we noted that you’ll save a lot more money at Akershus (which is around $20 cheaper than Cinderella’s Royal Table). Plus, the character interactions here tend to get rave reviews. Many guests feel like the princesses spend more time at each table, justifying the cost more.

We also think the Scandinavian offerings are really cool and unique, and in our experiences, the buffet usually offers some pretty standard fare as well that should cater to picky eaters. It can be a crapshoot, according to our readers, though.

The real selling point is the location, though. EPCOT’s relaxed vibes make it much easier to fit a table-service meal into your day without feeling like you’re missing out. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s easier to get a reservation at Akershus versus Cinderella’s Royal Table.
