REVIEW: A Dessert Flight Exists in EPCOT, and My Life Has Utterly Changed

Can you believe it’s already the 4th anniversary of Space 220 in EPCOT?

Flight 220

To celebrate this big milestone, they’re showcasing a new menu for the lounge, and we got a sneak peek at what’s to come. Not trying to be dramatic, but if this is what food tastes like in space, we’re buying a ticket immediately.

The new menu is coming on October 1st, so go ahead and check your calendar and get ready to head to the lounge.

Let’s take a look at the dishes:

    • DLR Curry Wurst
    • Solar Flare Pork Belly
    • Cosmic Lobster Bao
    • Astro Cluck and Cosmic Crisp
    • Saturn Reuben Sandwich
    • Gamma Burst Cocktail
    • Blue Moon Cauliflower
    • Short Rib Sliders
    • Flight 220 (it comes with three desserts, y’all!)
      • Cosmic Cheesecake
      • Cookies & Cream Macaron
      • Strawberry Saturn

The Deviled Eggs and Hot Honey Chicken Wings are temporarily being removed from the menu to make way for your newfound favorites. Not all of the menu items are new, but they’re all perfect for the anniversary menu. One of our favorites that we got to try was the DLR Curry Wurst, which was so juicy with the perfect snap, and the sweet curry sauce just made the dish.

The Solar Flare Pork Belly was also incredible! It was super fatty with a crispy crust, which you know is to die for on pork belly, and it bursts when you bite into it. It came with a sauce that reminded us of a creamy, spiced applesauce and had some pickled radishes on the side for added lightness.

Okay, how about these Astro Cluck and Cosmic Crisp? This is their take on chicken and waffles, and the chicken had the best crispy batter on it, and the maple syrup had a kick. The waffle offers just a hint of sweetness, and it was even topped with spicy cucumbers that were pickled for some tang and acid.

As if that doesn’t convince you, let’s take a look at the desserts. Meet Flight 220, a literal dessert flight (which is the only flight I’ll be accepting for now on), with a Cosmic Cheesecake, a Cookies & Cream Macron, and a Strawberry Staturn. You get to crack open the cheesecake to unveil a chocolate mousse base, and it was so perfect.

The mararon is huge! It was crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside with a salted caramel filling.

SO BIG!

Even the Strawberry Saturn was epic with a white chocolate ring and a strawberry crumble. The mousse inside was very milky, light, and fluffy, and it tasted like strawberry milk in dish form.

It literally looks like a planet!

We could go on and on, but instead, you just need to go and experience it yourself. Remember, this is at the lounge starting October 1st at Space 220. Keep following AllEars and maybe we’ll see you there!
