NEWS: Ozzy Osbourne, Heavy Metal Icon, Has Died at 76

Ozzy Osbourne of Black Sabbath passed away on July 22nd, 2025, at the age of 76.

He passed away a few weeks after his farewell concert, which included performances by Metallica and Guns N’ Roses, as he took his final bow.

He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and has had ongoing health issues since 2019.

Osbourne has two Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductions and five Grammy wins. Some of his most famous songs include “War Pigs,” “Iron Man, and “Paranoid.” He had albums in Rolling Stone’s list of the top 10 greatest heavy metal albums of all time.

A statement from the Osbourne family says, “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family, surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy at this time.”

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Obsbourne, and his five children. While he was known as one of the godfathers of heavy metal, he showed his love for his family on their reality TV show, The Osbournes.

With Disney, he voiced Fawn in Gnomeo & Juliet and acted as a band manager in The Jerky Boys: The Movie. He also voiced the Duke of Drear in The 7D with his daughter, Kelly, and guest-starred in Fish Hooks.
