One of the biggest and hardest decisions you’ll need to make when you’re at Disney World is where you’re going to eat! Luckily, we like to go everywhere and make that decision easier for you.

Here at AllEars, we’ll give you an idea of where you should definitely eat and where you should skip. We recently stopped by the Roaring Fork at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and we are giving you our FULL review!
Background
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is home to quite a few dining locations, including the Whispering Canyon, Story Book Dining, and the Roaring Fork. This resort is a fan-favorite — it’s themed to feel like a camping in the woods vibe, and it’s a gorgeous resort.

The Roaring Fork is a quick-service dining spot that offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The breakfast menu is filled with all your favorite breakfast items like bacon, eggs, and of course, Mickey Waffles!

This spot serves a lot of barbecue options for lunch and dinner — including burnt ends, brisket, pulled pork, burgers, and more!
Atmosphere
Roaring Fork is a counter-service spot located at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and it’s a great place to grab a quick bite to eat before you head to the parks or after you get back to the hotel. It’s not a huge place, but offers a decent pick of eats.

You’ll find a decent amount of indoor seating, or you can take your food to go and find a cozy spot to eat it around the hotel!

But enough about that, what are we eating?!
Food & Drinks
First up, we grabbed the 10-Hour Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich for $11.99. This is made with Pulled Pork tossed in Apple-Barbecue Sauce and topped with Creamy Slaw on a Sweet Brioche Bun, served with French Fries.
This was a really solid pulled pork sandwich! It wasn’t the best barbecue we’ve ever had, but it certainly did the trick. We wouldn’t order this over the pulled pork you can get at Flame Tree Barbecue in Animal Kingdom, for example. It was still really good, and we ate the whole thing, even though we were eating plenty of other things.

The pork itself was incredibly tender and easy to eat, with a slight smokiness to it. The barbecue sauce served on top was definitely on the sweeter side — think like a Sweet Baby Ray’s rather than a vinegar or Carolina mustard sauce. The bun was nice and soft as well, which was nice because it let the pork shine on its own.
You get the choice of fries, housemade chips, and coleslaw as sides, and we chose fries, which complemented the sandwich well.

Then we grabbed the Grilled Cheese for $9.29. It has a Four Cheese Blend, Bacon, and Crispy Onion Straws on Fresh Sourdough Bread.

This grilled cheese was awesome — and we’ve had our fair share of grilled cheeses at Disney World. There were four blends of cheese in it, and we’re glad there were because this thing was CHEESY. It was definitely rich, but the bread was nice and toasted, which provided a much-needed crunch.
We wish there had been a bit more bacon, because why wouldn’t we, but all in all, we really appreciated this sandwich — especially with the addition of the crispy onion straws. They just elevated the grilled cheese, and it was a nice touch.

Our dessert was the Campfire Cupcake for $6.49! It was a Chocolate Cupcake with Chocolate rocks, Buttercream, and Marshmallow.

First off, aesthetically, this thing is gorgeous. The detail it has with the icing as the flames, the rocks, and the marshmallow on a chocolate stick, is so lovely and fits in perfectly at this resort! If you like chocolate, you’ll you’ll love this treat for sure — it’s a chocolate cupcake with chocolate rocks on it and a chocolate stick holding the marshmallows. We’ve loved this in the past, and even though it looks like it, it’s not over the top in terms of difficulty to eat. We don’t think it’s a dessert you need to go out of your way for, but it’s a solid treat if you’re staying here!

To drink, we picked up the Gold Rush Latte for $5.59 — a vanilla latte with caramel.

You do get the choice between hot and iced, and we went with iced this time. This was nice! It mostly tasted like vanilla to us, even though it has caramel in it too. It was definitely on the sweeter side, and the whipped cream on top melted fairly quickly, even though we were inside. Coffee snobs might find this too sweet, but it’s a solid latte if you like them that way.
Magic or Tragic?
This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if…
- You’re staying at Wilderness Lodge and are looking for a reliable, quick bite to eat.
- You want to stop for some barbecue while you’re at this hotel.
- You love grilled cheese — this one was worth the trip!
You should skip this Disney World spot if…
- You’re not staying at Wilderness Lodge. It’s a great spot, but there are plenty of other places to go out of your way for.
- You want a more formal, sit-down dinner. This is counter service.
- You’re looking for something a bit more unique or upscale.

All in all, Roaring Fork is a great little spot for grabbing a quick bite to eat when you’re staying at Wilderness Lodge. We wouldn’t recommend going out of your way for it, but it’s a solid choice if you’re nearby and hungry!
In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to AllEars for the latest Disney news and more!
