REVIEW: This Hidden Disney World Lounge Never Lets Us Down

Planning a trip to Disney World and not sure where you should eat while you’re there? Luckily, you’ve come to the right place!

Animal Kingdom

Here at AllEars, we know all the ins and outs of Disney World restaurants — including where you should definitely eat, and where you should skip. We recently stopped by the Nomad Lounge at Animal Kingdom and are bringing you our FULL review!

Background

The lounge features many hand-crafted cocktails using the art of mixology with African, Asian, and South American flavors, and beers and wines from those regions.

On top of that, they have a variety of specialty non-alcoholic beverages and tasty small bites. Here’s what you need to know about dining at this restaurant.

Atmosphere

Festive banners hang in the center of the lounge, each posing a different question about traveling the world and highlighting the thrill of discovery.

Nomad Lounge in Disney’s Animal Kingdom

The spot is sort of tucked away from the rest of the park, so it’s a great spot to go to for some chill, quiet(ish) time. The lounge is attached to the fan-favorite Animal Kingdom spot, Tiffins.

Tiffins

The vibes here are pretty immaculate, and there are lots of comfy seating options. You can choose to sit at the bar or outside on the covered patio.

Inside Nomad Lounge

You get a nice view of Discovery River from the patio. There’s a lot of greenery in the area, making it beautiful to just sit in

Patio Is a GREAT Option

But enough about that, what are we eating?!

Food & Drinks

First up, we grabbed the Bangkok Chicken Wings for $16. This dish was crispy chicken wings with fish sauce caramel, peanuts, and cilantro.

Bangkok Chicken Wings

The texture is fantastic here — crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The peanut flavor certainly comes through, but we didn’t taste much of the caramel. Overall, they’re nothing super special and are pretty expensive for only five wings, but they’re a solid choice.

Yum!

We also grabbed the Churros for $10. It came with vanilla crema and seasonal sauce.

Churros

Not only are these delicious, but you get five churros for $10, which we think is a great deal. They were soft, yet crispy, and both dipping sauces enhanced the experience in the best way. This is a staple here, and we clearly see why!

SO good!

There was also Bread Service, which is a very popular menu item at the Nomad Lounge. The bread service is actually from the Tiffins’ menu, and features Thai Milk Bread, Indian Pappadam, and Brazilian Pão de Queijo breads. Included are the dips, which are Coconut Curry Sauce, Guava Sauce, and Ginger Pear Chutney.

Bread Service

If we had to choose a favorite, we would probably go with the Thai Milk Bread. It was very soft and easy to rip — we just wish it were a little warmer. The Indian Pappadam was like eating a chip or hard pita bread. It was seasoned very well and gave the dish a good balance. The Brazilian Pão de Queijo breads almost had a cheesy taste to them. We found they were hard to bite into and hard to tear apart, but they were good! Each sauce provided a unique taste to the breads, whether it was spicy or sweet. The bread service was a little on the heavy side, so don’t fill up too much!

The sauces

To drink, we picked up the Leaping Lizard for $17.50. This is made with Malibu Pineapple Rum and Leblon Cachaça with orange, passion fruit, and mango juices. If you love fruity alcoholic drinks, this one is for you! The pineapple is very prominent, and the lime gives it a bit of a sour kick. It’s hard to taste the alcohol until you get further into the drink, so it’s blended VERY well.

Leaping Lizard

We also had to get the Sinaloa Sangria for $15. It was a South American sangria made with Susana Balbo ‘crios’ rosé, barsol quebranta pisco, and fresh fruit.

Sinaloa Sangria

This is a pretty normal sangria, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad in any way, shape, or form. Orange is the most prominent flavor, but you can also taste lemon, lime, and some strawberry. It’s got that classic kick to it that most sangrias do, but there’s also pulp in here, so that’s something to keep in mind when you’re deciding if this drink is nice for you.

Magic or Tragic?

Full Spread!

We’re big fans of Nomad Lounge and don’t think anything will really change that! It’s a great spot for a drink or the churros, especially. Not that the other offerings aren’t good, but the drinks, churros, and atmosphere are really what this spot is known for.
