It can take some time to become a Disney World pro.

We go to Disney World every day, and we still make mistakes and learn new things from time to time. As Hannah Montana once said, “Nobody’s perfect.” We asked you, our amazing readers, to share a time when you made a mistake or saw someone make a mistake at Disney World to give everyone a laugh—all in good fun!
Let’s see what you all had to say!

Asking When the 3 PM Parade Is
We know that this is a classic Disney World mistake, and when you say it out loud, you really don’t see the problem until you say it back to yourself a few times. A Cast Member shared that they got asked this question quite a bit, but it just goes to show that even if you are not a Disney World pro, at least you subconsciously know when the parade is!

Rope Dropping the Wrong Attraction
Rope dropping is a serious art at Disney World; if you do not plan out your schedule beforehand, you may be out of luck when it comes time for the rope to drop. One reader shared that they once ran to rope drop Spaceship Earth, which is in the front of the park, which normally does not have the longest wait (compared to other popular EPCOT rope drop attractions like Cosmic Rewind or Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure).
Some attractions are not open during rope drop, and even our team has made the mistake of trying to rope drop a ride that does not open until later in the day, so make sure to make a game plan before you rope drop!

Asking Where the Harry Potter Attractions Are
We know it can be confusing with all the theme parks in Central Florida, and since it seems like Disney owns just about everything, you would think that Harry Potter would be found at Disney World, but… it is over at Universal Orlando! If you want to ride Harry Potter-themed attractions and yield your wand to do magic, you will have to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at both Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, and soon at Epic Universe.
Trying to Walk Up at a Popular Restaurant
While Disney World does offer Mobile Dine Walk-up at some restaurants, not all Disney World restaurants are created equally. It is so essential to make sure you mark your calendars for 60 days before your trip to make your Advance Dining Reservations. That way, you can avoid the walk of shame when you likely cannot get a table at a restaurant like ‘Ohana or Space 220 without having a reservation.

Getting Your Disney History Wrong
If you are a Disney Adult, odds are you know A LOT of Disney trivia and history. It can be funny to hear someone say something so confidently and be so wrong. One reader shared that she overheard a parent tell their child that Tweedledee and Tweedledum were the Three Little Pigs.

I’m a Professional Disney Adult. These Are the Mistakes I Would NEVER Make in the Parks Again.
Mistakes happen, and they are good to learn from them! It just helps you be even more prepared for the next time you visit Disney World! If you want to share a story or your thoughts, make sure to follow AllEars across social media on Facebook, Instagram, and X.
