Fan Favorite Disney World Hotel Delays Refurbishment Through Spring 2025

There are some big hotel changes coming to Disney World!

From hotel room updates at several resorts to a brand-new tower under construction at the Polynesian Village Resort, your next resort stay could be significantly improved! But if you’re waiting for one of those hotel refurbishments to be complete, we’ve got some important news.

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter has been under construction for a little while as Disney updates the hotel rooms. These updates were originally supposed to last from April to November, but now they’ve been extended through Spring 2025.

Some of the room refurbishments are already complete, but if you’re staying at the hotel in the coming months, you’re not guaranteed to get an updated room. We got the chance to stay in one recently, and we were quite impressed with some of the changes.

The rooms definitely have that Louisiana-inspired look to them, with specifically-chosen artwork and decor. They even have nods to The Princess and the Frog throughout!

These new rooms also come equipped with Hey Disney, so that’s an added bonus if you’ve enjoyed having the virtual assistant in your room.

Each room comes equipped with a mini-fridge and a coffee maker, though not a full kitchenette. There’s plenty of storage space throughout the room now!

So if you’re hoping to secure one of these rooms, you might need to wait until Summer 2025 to be sure that you can stay in one. You can always put in a request with the resort, but you’re not guaranteed an updated room.
