Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has been undergoing some major construction as a new DVC tower has been getting built.
While there have been lots of mixed feelings about this new tower, it will add several new Disney Vacation Club villas and bungalows to the resort as well as new amenities. One of the new spaces that Disney announced will offer an amazing perk for guests and DVC members, and we think you’re going to love it!
While Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort offers the Top of the World Lounge that supplies amazing rooftop views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks and other Disney hotels have other rooftop bars and restaurants, the Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will offer a one of a kind rooftop experience. Four new tropical Terrace Gardens will be coming to the Island Tower!
The Terrace Gardens will feature “vibrant artwork, lush foliage, and uniquely themed seating areas” as an exclusive location for DVC members and Island Tower guests to explore. These four areas will be a great place for families and groups to gather and enjoy while they are staying at Disney World. But the artwork and foliage won’t be the only views from these gardens.
These areas will offer views of Disney’s two golf courses, Oak Trail and Magnolia Golf Courses, and Seven Seas Lagoon. The view of Seven Seas Lagoon will make it an amazing spot to view Magic Kingdom fireworks! This will be a huge perk for those that can experience it. If you’ve been to the Top of the World lounge and experienced a fireworks show from there, you’ll know how spectacular these rooftop views can be.
However, these gardens and this view aren’t the only new perk coming to the Island Tower at the Polynesian Resort. A new restaurant, Wailulu Bar & Grill will also be available featuring indoor and outdoor seating including amazing views of Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom. It will include a Polynesian theme that includes Polynesian-inspired artwork, fish sculptures from recycled materials, and more.
Last, but certainly not least, a new pool with a whimsical Moana-themed splash area, Moana’s Voyage, will be added to the tower. It will feature life-size sculptures of Moana and her canoe within the splash area! The pool, Cove Pool, will be a zero-entry pool that DVC members and guests at the Polynesian Resort can enjoy.
We’ve been watching the construction progress at Island Tower and have seen some of these cool features and experiences already get installed. It looks like it’s going to be a fun place to visit and stay!

Not a fan…looks nothing like the rest of Polynesians long low houses….and stupidly? Sure sell more rooms but where do these people go? Like the parks aren’t crowded enough as it is? They have. Land for a 5th park…stop adding more DVC rooms
