This weekend, Disney is hosting the massive D23 Ultimate Fan Event in Anaheim, California. The sprawling convention broke news from across Disney’s spectrum of offerings, including films, television streaming, video games, and of course theme parks.

In one of the more exciting releases — for those of a certain age at least — the company has released a teaser trailer for the upcoming Disney Channel/Disney+ series Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.

The clip, which combines behind-the-scenes footage and material from the series, gives our full look at the sequel to the wildly popular 2000s series Wizards of Waverly Place. The original, which aired from 2007 to 2012 was one of Disney’s most popular at the time and launched the career of Selena Gomez.

The new series will focus on Justin (the returning David Henrie) having given up his powers for a normal life with his family, only to get drawn back into the world of magic by a young wizard named Billie (Janice LeAnn Brown) who seeks his guidance. Gomez is set to reprise her role as Justin’s sister Alex Russo in a recurring capacity.
