The toys are back in town…again.Â
This weekend, Disney hosted the massive D23 Ultimate Fan Event in Anaheim, California. The sprawling convention broke news from across Disney’s spectrum of offerings, including films, television streaming, video games, and parks.Â
Some of the of the biggest reveals of the weekend were for one of Disney/Pixar’s biggest franchises: Toy Story. We already knew that Toy Story 5 is set for release on June 19th, 2026 and will be directed by longtime Pixar icon Andrew Stanton. However, now we know more about the upcoming cinematic event.Â
Andrew Stanton will not only direct, but he is writing the film! Disney announced it during the Entertainment Showcase at D23.

We also got a tidbit about the storyline. Apparently the toys will have to go head to head with electronics making their jobs harder than ever! It’s always been their job to be there for the kids.
Toy Story 5 is coming in June of 2026, and now we’re even more excited for the franchise’s next installment!Â
