Universal Orlando Released 8 NEW Pictures of Its Hotel Expansion Plans

Universal Orlando just dropped some major news on us!

Epic Universe is under construction and is expected to open in the summer of 2025. We’ve been keeping an eye on the latest construction progress and details, but Universal has released more concept art for newly announced hotels — so let’s check it all out!

Universal Studios announced that as part of the Epic Universe expansion, two new hotels will be opening as well! Universal Stella Nova Resort and Universal Terra Luna Resort will each feature 750 new guest rooms, and will be co-owned and operated by Loews Hotels & Co.

Along with the announcement, we got some new concept art of each hotel, so let’s check it out!

Stella Nova

According to the company, “Universal Stella Nova Resort is inspired by distant galaxies, new stars, and mysterious black holes…” And we can certainly say that this hotel will have at least one thing in common with space — it looks pretty darn expansive. Stella Nova will be covered in colorful imagery as far as the eye can see!

From what it looks like here, there will likely be some sort of quick service, coffee shop, and grab-and-go area inside the hotel. There looks to be a decent amount of seating, along with a lot of organic lines and shapes, reflecting the space theme.

This appears to be the lobby, and if we’re being honest — it reminds us of the atrium at Disney’s now-closed Star Wars Hotel a bit! But, if they’re going for a space theme, well, that tracks. We think we spy a bar back in the right corner over there too!

Of course, there must be pools in space right?! Don’t worry — there is one at Stella Nova! Lush palm trees and other foliage line a large pool, with a bar on the far side of it. It looks like there will also be a splash pad for the kiddos.

One down, one to go!

Terra Luna

Universal shared, “…Terra Luna Resort is inspired by the massive and diverse planetary elements of the universe.” So… another space-themed hotel methinks.

We can see more of those “elements” reflected in this image, with warm, natural wood ceilings and wave-like designs. We spy another lobby bar over on the left, along with some seating.

The wood pattern is continued in this area, which appears to be a combination of dining, merchandise, and general seating. We’re eager to see more!

The Loews Hotels website notes that Stella Nova will open on January 21st, 2025, and that Terra Luna will open on February 25th, 2025, but those dates have not yet been confirmed publicly by Universal. We’ll keep an eye out for a specific announcement.
