The Biggest NEW Disney RUMOR That Everyone Believes

There have been a lot of big announcements about Disney World recently.

Magic Kingdom

Destination D23, the biggest Disney fan event of the year, happened from September 8th to 10th. During the event, we found out that major changes are coming to the Country Bear Jamboree and we finally have an end timeline for the EPCOT Transformation. There were even unexpected announcements made about future projects including a new Zootopia show in Animal Kingdom.

One of the unexpected projects was the new Pirates of the Caribbean tavern coming to Magic Kingdom. This will be a place where “pirates of all ages gather to tell their tales”.

As this news broke, rumors began to pop up about the new tavern. One common rumor that was swirling around the internet is that the tavern would actually be located inside or attached to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.

This would be similar to how Blue Bayou in Disneyland is set up. This restaurant overlooks the beginning of the waterway in the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. Some are hoping that something similar could be brought to Disney World.

Part of the rumor was also fueled by the amount of temporary closures the Disney World ride has seen lately. We’ve often seen Pirates of the Caribbean closed at the beginning of the day (even before anyone has had a chance to ride it). We’ve even seen it closed for almost an entire day.

We believe this rumor is just a rumor. If Disney did want to incorporate something like this into Magic Kingdom, there would have to be permits filed before starting the project. We watch for the permits that Disney files and we have not seen one for this area. Also, the ride would likely not open sporadically if it was under construction.
