I’m Sorry, Are We Just Going to Ignore This LIFE CHANGING Disney Announcement?!

Destination D23 took place at Disney World just a few weekends ago. This exciting bi-annual event brought us some big news that fans can’t stop talking about, such as the upcoming repainting of Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom.

While there were some HUGE announcements that we’re all looking forward to, there were also some smaller, but not any less important announcements made, too. And the thing is that these smaller announcements are just as life changing, and we’re SO excited for them! So let’s dive into the smaller, yet thrilling, movie announcements that came out of Destination D23 at Disney World.

New Movies Announced

Disney announced TWO brand-new movies coming soon! Let’s check them out.

Hexed

Hexed will be hitting theaters next fall! The new film is about a “a teenage oddball and his [type-A] mom, who discover his weirdness is actually hidden magic, transporting them to a world where magic can run free.”

The movie will be in theaters November 2026.

Ice Age: Boiling Point

The Ice Age franchise is coming back for another sequel in 2027! Ice Age: Boiling Point will premiere in theaters on February 5th, 2027.

Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie, Scrat, and others will star in this “dinosaur-and-lava-filled madcap adventure.” The herd will venture to parts of the Lost World they’ve never seen before, so get ready to go on a hair-brained adventure once again with Ice Age!

New Looks at Upcoming Movies

Destination D23 also gave us new looks at several upcoming movies!

Toy Story 5

The clip of the first five minutes of Toy Story 5 was shown to get us even more hyped for the new movie.

High-tech Buzz Lightyear was seen washed up on a deserted island. They’re so advanced that they figure out how to escape and get back to civilization. Basically, the entire premise of the film is toys vs. tech! The toys will face off against LilyPad and Smarty Pants.

We can’t wait! But that wasn’t the only Toy Story news we got.

Toy Story (The Original)

The original Toy Story movie will be re-released in theaters starting on September 12th for the 1995 film’s 30th anniversary!

Along with the re-release of the movie, the Buzz Lightyear balloon will return to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this year! Now this is truly life changing for Millennials.

Zootopia 2

Guests at D23 also got a look at the opening scene from Zootopia 2!

The clip showed Judy being chased by a pit viper that stole a valuable book from a gala. The book could change how the world see snakes, but the in the process of all that, Nick and Judy end up helping the snake escape, making them wanted fugitives, too.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw will be headed to Disney+ on December 5th. At Destination D23, Disney gave us a first look of the movie!

Hoppers

Hoppers will hit theaters on March 6th, 2026 (so we don’t have too much longer to wait). We got a sneak preview of this new movie at D23, as well.

The story follows Mabel, a “nature-loving college student” with a mission to bring the animals back to a glade that’s very important to her. Her mission is at odds with the mayor’s plan to build a highway through it, though! Thanks to some new technology that allows her to “hop” into the body of a robotic beaver, chaos ensues.

We’re so excited to see all these new movies coming to theaters and Disney+ soon! These may not be as big of announcements as Villains Land or the painting of the castle, but they are still very important and life-changing (at least for us).

While we wait for these new films, keep following AllEars for more Disney news!
