Disney movie and show fans — we’ve got an update for you!
There are so many new Disney movies to look forward to, including Hoppers, Frozen 3, and more. But if you’re a Toy Story fan, then you’ll be excited to hear more about what’s going on with that franchise!
During Destination D23’s Walt Disney Studios panel, we got the chance to sneak a peek at Toy Story 5. Disney showed the first five minutes of the new film to those present, and boy, did it get us hyped!
The clip shows high-tech Buzz Lightyear toys washing up on a deserted island, and they’re so advanced that they figure out how to escape and get back to civilization. Basically, the entire premise of the film is toys vs. tech! The toys will face off against LilyPad and Smarty Pants.
But not only did we get news about Toy Story 5, but we learned that the original Toy Story film will be re-released in theaters this fall! You’ll be able to watch the 1995 film on the big screen for its 30th Anniversary starting September 12th.
Another big announcement revealed for the anniversary of the movie is that the Buzz Lightyear balloon will be returning to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. We can’t wait to see Buzz in ginormous form!
That’s all that was announced for Toy Story news right now, but we’ll be excited to hear more as we get closer to the new film’s June 2026 release date.
Oh, and we even got an update on ANOTHER Pixar movie coming soon — Hoppers! The story will be like an animal version of Avatar (despite the emphatic denial of the characters), where a human brain is plopped into a fake animal. The premise? HILARIOUS! This movie will premiere on March 6th, 2026.
