D23 Expo Panels That Will Give You Some Serious FOMO

If you’re the ULTIMATE Disney fan, then there’s just one place you need to be this September…

…the D23 Expo! The Expo is the “Ultimate Disney Fan Event” and features a costume competition, panels featuring Disney stars and Imagineers, merchandise (of course), and much more. We’ve already shared a full look at some of the biggest presentations for the Expo, but now we’re focusing in on the panels you won’t want to miss if you’re hoping to get all of that juicy, exclusive Disney news!

This year, the D23 Expo will take place in Anaheim, California from September 9th through the 11th. If you’ll be attending and hoping to get some exclusive Disney news updates, these are the panels you won’t want to miss.

Disney Live Action, Pixar, and Disney Animation News

On Friday, September 9th, at 3:30PM, you’ll want to check out the latest updates from Disney Live Action, Pixar Animation Studios, and Walt Disney Animation Studios in a special presentation.

Guests will get the chance to learn new details about upcoming films, get first looks and sneak peeks at new movies, hear announcements about upcoming theatrical and Disney+ productions, and even get a few surprises! During the presentation, you’ll get to hear from the heads of the studios, filmmakers, and even some of the cast of the upcoming movies.

In the past, this is where we’ve gotten details about new movies like Frozen II, Soul, and more. So it could prove to be a BIG deal with more Disney and Pixar projects in the works!

Marvel and Lucasfilm

If you’re all about super heroes and films that take place in a galaxy far, far away, then you can’t miss the panel that will take place on Saturday. On September 10th, in Hall D23 at 10AM, there will be a presentation all about the upcoming Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm titles (both those that are theatrical and those going to Disney+.

During the presentation, guests will get to hear from the filmmakers, celebrities who star in the films, and surprise guests. There will be behind-the-scenes looks shared, and exclusive footage revealed. You might also be among the first to learn about some NEW projects that are in the works!

Disney Television

If you’re excited about the upcoming National Treasure series coming to Disney+, or The Santa Claus series that is in the works, then the Disney Branded Television presentation is one you can’t miss! This will take place on Saturday, September 10th, at 3:30PM.

At this presentation, Disney will provide an “exclusive showcase,” including celebrity appearances and sneak peeks at some their upcoming projects for Disney+, Disney Channel, and Disney Junior.

Disney Parks

And finally, if you’re curious to know what is coming to the Disney parks and Disney Cruise Line, the Disney Parks, Experiences and Products panel is for you.

The panel will be hosted by Chairman Josh D’Amaro and he’ll share announcements and updates about some of the projects being worked on, and even gives a behind-the-scenes look at some things coming to the parks.

In the past, this panel is where Disney has shared BIG updates about the EPCOT Transformation, news about the Space 220 restaurant, a first look at new rides like Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, details about the Star Wars Hotel, and more. It’s a panel that is often packed FULL of reveals and exciting news!

So if you’re looking for the BIGGEST news at D23 Expo, these are the panels to watch for! Keep in mind that because these are often the panels that reveal the biggest news, they’re often the panels that are the most difficult to get a seat for.

Though these presentations will all take place in Hall D23, which seats 6,900 guests, it still gets PACKED. So be sure to plan accordingly and look into just what you’ll need to do to try and secure a seat.
