One of the biggest events for Disney fans is the D23 Expo that takes place every two years.
The event includes a multi-day celebration with panels, presentations, vendors, and so much more. The last time it happened was in 2019, and the 2021 event was postponed until this year. Today, Disney released some big news about the 2022 D23 Expo!
This year, the event will take place on September 9th-11th at the Anaheim Convention Center. And if you’re a Disney history buff, you don’t want to miss out because one big artifact will be present at the event — Walt Disney’s airplane!
Once the Grumman Gulfstream 1 (G1) aircraft was retired from use, it was kept in MGM Studios at the Backlot Tour attraction, where guests could catch a glimpse of it. Since that ride closed down, it hasn’t been seen by the public, but it will soon be making an appearance at the D23 Expo!
The exhibit name will be Mickey Mouse One: Walt’s Plane — presented by Amazon. The plane has been restored and will be on display for fans to take photos with it. We can’t wait to check it out up close!
