If you’re just now getting into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, then you have a lot to catch up on!

On top of the 27 (!!) movies that make up the universe, there are also Disney+ series that expand upon the characters and their worlds. WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, What If..?, and Hawkeye have all explored different corners of the Marvel universe, and the studio’s newest Disney+ original, Moon Knight, is the first to center a character that had not previously appeared in the films. But, with big subscriber number goals, are Marvel shows enough to grow Disney+ as a platform?
Moon Knight is currently the most in-demand show in the world across all platforms, according to Business Insider. Since its March 30th premiere, it’s been 86.5% more in demand than the average show and it also has a 87% on Rotten Tomatoes — making it a strong addition to Marvel’s roster.

According to audience demand data from Parrot Analytics, Moon Knight is currently ahead of where Hawkeye and Loki were at this point in their series run and closely trails The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and WandaVision in terms of audience interest and engagement.

But, even though each of Disney+’s Live-Action MCU originals have peaked at number 1 globally, the data suggests that the series don’t necessarily attract many new fans or subscribers. Rather, they seem to do a better job at retaining subscribers.

At Disney’s most recent quarterly earnings call, they shared that Disney+ had grown to 118.1 million subscribers. Their long-term goal is to reach between 230 and 260 million subscribers by the end of fiscal 2024, which they are on track to achieve according to Walt Disney Company CEO, Bob Chapek.

We’ll continue to keep track of the subscriber growth for Disney+ and all other movie and series updates, so stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest!
