Update: As of Wednesday, December 15th, everything is back to normal in Magic Kingdom and Cinderella’s Royal Table is operating as usual. As far as we can tell from the outside, Cinderella Castle isn’t visibly damaged.
Earlier tonight, there were reports of a fire at Magic Kingdom.

Reedy Creek Fire Department responded to reports of a fire near Cinderella Castle, with emergency vehicles making their way down Main Street, U.S.A. earlier this evening.
Thankfully, it has been shared by reporter Scott Gustin that no one was hurt by the incident, a small fire “was put out by a single fire extinguisher.” He went on to update that it happened “in a mulched area near the castle moat.”
Readers sent a look at what the initial incident looked like from inside Magic Kingdom, with Cast Members quickly and efficiently redirecting guests to the side of Main Street, U.S.A., and away from Cinderella Castle.

This allowed for first responders to quickly make their way over to Cinderella Castle to check out the situation, Throughout the park, Cast Members were working to redirect guests to safer areas and have blocked guests from getting near the Castle during the current situation.

Cast Members also prevented guests from exiting towards the Hub (the central area of Magic Kingdom located near Cinderella Castle) in Liberty Square, preventing anyone from getting too close to the scene.

Disney has reportedly issued a statement on the fire through reporter Scott Gustin, noting that “there was a small fire in Magic Kingdom. The fire was quickly extinguished by fire extinguishers. No one was hurt.”
UPDATE: According to the Orlando Sentenial, the President of the Reedy Creek Firefighters Association (John Shirey), has shared that “the call initially came into the fire department…as an electrical fire on a junction box outside the castle.” And, when fire personnel first arrived, they “saw a tree on fire next to the structure.”
Additionally, he stated that “fire personnel treated a security guard who inhaled dry chemicals from a fire extinguisher” and a Disney spokesperson also shared that “a cast member was transported from the park for non-emergency treatment.” These were the only reported injuries from the incident.
Update: The small fire happened in a mulched area near the castle moat. A single fire extinguisher put out the fire.
