NEWS: International Flights into U.S. Will Now Require a Negative COVID-19 Test Result

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, there have been a lot of new health and safety precautions put in place around the country.

We’ve seen mask mandates, temperature checks, and physical distancing, but now the CDC is taking things a step further. Starting January 26th, 2021, all passengers flying into the U.S. will now be required to offer proof of a negative COVID-19 test.

According to the CDC’s website, the new order will go into effect in less than two weeks and will require travelers coming to the U.S. to get tested within three days of their departure date. If you tested positive for Coronavirus within the past three months, you must provide proof of a negative test result in addition to a letter from your healthcare provider or a healthcare official stating that you’re cleared for travel.

This new procedure is required for all passengers coming into the U.S. who are at least two years of age and includes U.S. citizens and legal residents. The airline will be checking the documentation before boarding, and travelers will be denied boarding without the proper paperwork.
