One of our favorite activities at Walt Disney World is eating our way around the parks and resorts. We definitely have some tried-and-true favorite foods in Disney World.

But as much as we love indulging in the Cheeseburger Pods at Satu’li Canteen or a Croque Glace at L’Artisan des Glaces, we also enjoy trying new eats that debut in the parks. Especially when they’re a home run!
These are seven of our favorite new foods in Disney World this year!
1. Pork Carnitas Tacos from ABC Commissary
Here’s a bit of a spoiler alert as we head into our first entry on the list — Disney’s Hollywood Studios is home to a ton of the items on our list. And we’re thrilled that this park appears to be stepping up its food game lately! When ABC Commissary reopened in October, this Quick Service location debuted new menu items, including the Pork Carnitas Tacos. Made with flour tortillas filled with pork carnitas, salsa verde, pickled onion, and radish, these tacos packed a ton of flavor! In fact, they even had a spice that packed a bit of a punch, which is often rare in food from the Disney parks. If you’re looking for something full of flavor with a spicy kick, these Pork Carnitas Tacos are an awesome departure from “typical theme park food.”

2. Shrimp Tacos from ABC Commissary
That’s right, our second entry is another set of tacos from ABC Commissary. We just couldn’t decide which we liked more, so we had to include both! Topped with cabbage slaw, chipotle mayo, and mango salsa, this dish also packed some spice courtesy of the chipotle mayo. All the toppings were delicious, and the shrimp didn’t disappoint either. They were big and juicy, which was a delight since we haven’t always had the greatest experiences at this restaurant in the past. But it’s official, we think the reopened ABC Commissary had a major glow up.

3. Toasted “Lobster” Roll from Rosie’s All-American Cafe
Suspicious about the placement of the quotes in this menu item’s name? Well, it’s not actually made with lobster. In fact, this dish is vegan! The fake “lobster” is made of heart of palm that’s been marinated for 48 hours. It’s topped with celery, sweet apples, and a creamy dressing made with vegan mayo, dill, lemon juice, and Nori seaweed. And while it didn’t actually taste like seafood, that could be a great thing for any seafood-averse eaters! It reminded us a bit of a Caesar salad in sandwich form, and it was a delicious profile of flavors. This is a great option for vegans and non-vegans alike!

4. Pork Osso Bucco from Hollywood and Vine
Okay, we have one more entry from Hollywood Studios before we move to our entries from the other parks! When Hollywood and Vine reopened in September, the restaurant transitioned from buffet-style dining to a three-course prix fixe meal. And we have to say, we think this has made a noticeable improvement in the food! We were particularly impressed with the Pork Osso Bucco, which was perfectly cooked and so tender it practically fell off of the bone. We would happily eat this incredible meal again.

5. Belle’s Enchanted Christmas Tree from Gaston’s Tavern
We were pleasantly surprised by this seasonal snack in more ways than one. First, it’s an adorable and wonderfully photogenic treat. And, of course, it wouldn’t have made the list if it didn’t taste great, too! Made with almond macarons and cranberry orange cream, it’s a delicious dessert that isn’t overly sweet, as many treats around Disney World tend to be. We appreciate having a dessert that appeals to a more “adult” palate without sacrificing the whimsical presentation. If you’re a fan of macarons, you’ll probably love this one too!

6. Liquid Nitro Cake Pops from the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival
Located at the Desserts and Champagne booth of the festival, guests could choose between three cake pop flavors — plain chocolate, M&M, or Twix. And all three flavors were soooo good! As is the case with many cake pops, they were incredibly rich. Plus, they were fairly large, which made them a reasonably priced, shareable dessert. We loved the extra crunch and flavor of the M&Ms and Twix cake pops. But then again, even the plain chocolate one was packed with flavor! Here’s hoping they return for next year’s festival.

7. Salted Pretzel Chocolate Chip Cookie from Karamell-Küche
If you’re a fan of caramel, then Karamell-Küche is a must-do in EPCOT. And while it’s home to many of our favorite treats, the new Salted Pretzel Chocolate Chip Cookie has quickly made its way toward the top! Salty, sweet, crunchy, and drizzled with decadent Werther’s caramel, there’s just so much to love about this cookie. You’ll definitely want to save room for this dessert!

As much as we enjoy our go-to favorite meals and snacks, Disney keeps giving us reasons to try something new — and we LOVE it! Of all the new food we’ve tried this year, these are the ones we’re still daydreaming about. Snag one (or a few!) of these eats on your next trip, and let us know if you agree!
