This Historic Magic Kingdom UPDATE Has Started

A little over a month ago, Disney announced that a new ferry boat would be joining the fleet at Magic Kingdom for the first time in 50 years!

Well, now we have some exciting news that assembly has begun on the fourth ferry, and we have some photos to show you! Let’s take a look at the construction progress and how everything looks so far.

Disney is in the process of building a fourth Ferry Boat to transport guests to and from the Magic Kingdom and the Ticket and Transportation Center. We haven’t gotten much news since the announcement of the boat coming, but now we have some aerial footage of the assembly, thanks to @bioreconstruct via X.

…and the Liberty Belle riverboat. The Liberty Belle Riverboat has been here since the attraction closed to make way for the upcoming Piston Peak. We’re not sure what Disney’s plan is with it, but it looks like it just rests here for now.

Both the ferry boat and the Liberty Belle Riverboat are located in the service marina North of Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

For the first time in 50 years, Disney World is expanding its fleet of ferry boats, and we’re beyond excited. The ferry will be coming in 2027, setting sail in the Seven Seas Lagoon. The boat will increase the Disney World fleet from three to four ferries.

The fourth ferryboat of the fleet will be called Meg Gilbert Crofton, named after Disney World’s fourth president. Meg has had a significant impact on Disney World, starting her Disney career in 1977 as a marketing manager. She followed that up with several roles in the company before eventually taking on the helm as president of Walt Disney World from 2006 to 2013.
