Is Disney Adding MORE to Its New Version of Soarin’?

Disney is bringing in a new version of a classic ride, and while we thought we were getting simple changes, there might be something bigger on the horizon.

Walt Disney Imagineering has filed a permit to “install set elements”…for Soarin’! Soarin’ Across America will open on May 26th, in time for the United States’ 250th birthday celebration.

We originally thought we’d just be getting a new video with different scenes across America (and maybe some new scents as well), but we weren’t expecting any set elements or changes to the showroom. Could this be physical set pieces in the showroom? Or new items in the queue? Maybe even changes to the outside? We’re not exactly sure, but whatever it is, we’re excited.

While this permit is for Disney World, Soarin’ Across America will be coming to Disneyland and Disney World on May 26th. The current version, Soarin’ Around the World, will close on May 13th to make way for this change.

This isn’t the only change coming to Disney World this summer! Also, on May 26th, Bluey and Bingo will debut at Animal Kingdom. Kids will be able to play games and dance with Bluey and Bingo at the Conversation Station.

We love Bluey!

Also, on May 26th, Walt Disney Studios will open at Hollywood Studios. You’ll be able to check out the new indoor playground and drawing classes where an Olaf animatronic will help you draw your favorite characters (alongside the instruction of professional animators).

Changes to the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will also be coming on May 22nd and will allow The Mandalorian and Grogy to lead you on a new mission. For the first time ever, you’ll be able to choose which planets you want to visit, and the engineers will be able to communicate with Grogu during the mission.
