Animal Kingdom is about to get a whole lot more chaotic.

In case you missed it, Bluey’s Wild World is coming to Conservation Station at Animal Kingdom, and if you’re a parent, a Bluey superfan, or just someone who enjoys a peaceful morning at Rafiki’s Planet Watch, this news hits very differently depending on which camp you’re in. The experience opens on May 26th and, unlike a lot of limited-time offerings, it’s sticking around permanently. We’ve got all the details on what’s coming, and we have some real thoughts about what this means for the lines.
What’s Actually Coming to Conservation Station
Let’s start with the fun part, because genuinely, as a concept, this is adorable. Bluey’s Wild World will take over the former Rafiki’s Planet Watch area, and it’s going to be packed with activities straight from the show.

We’re talking, meeting Bluey and Bingo, playing Keepy Uppy with them, and joining a full-on dance party. If you’ve ever watched the show with a kid, you already know those characters are going to draw an absolutely massive crowd.

The petting zoo, previously known as Affection Section, is also getting a full refresh. It’s being renamed Jumping Junction, and it’s going full Australia-themed, which means you can expect to see animals native to Bluey’s home country. We’re hoping for kangaroos and wallabies, and honestly, the potential here is really exciting from an animal experience standpoint.
Here’s the Part That’s Going to Sting
To get to Conservation Station, you have to take the Wildlife Express Train from the Africa area of the park. It’s always been one of those quieter, more relaxed corners of Animal Kingdom.
If you’ve been going to Disney World for a while, you probably know that Rafiki’s Planet Watch has historically been a low-key spot to decompress mid-day. The train ride is genuinely lovely, the area is calm, and it’s one of the few spots where you can actually breathe a little. That’s going to change in a very big way.

Right now, even during holiday weeks, the Wildlife Express Train is already sitting at around a 20-minute wait with no Bluey-related draw whatsoever. That’s just the baseline for a Monday during a busy period. When you add character meets with two of the most beloved characters in children’s entertainment right now, plus an interactive play experience and a one-of-a-kind petting zoo, that number is going to climb fast.

Character meet-and-greets in general are notorious for their wait times at Disney World, and Bluey and Bingo are going to be in a completely different league. The demand for these characters is going to be intense, and the fact that you have to factor in a train ride just to get there adds an extra layer of logistical chaos.

You’re not just waiting in one line. You’re essentially stacking a transit wait on top of a character meet wait, and that’s before accounting for everything else you might want to do once you’re back there.
What to Keep in Mind
If Bluey’s Wild World is on your must-do list, and honestly, how could it not be, plan to get to Animal Kingdom early and head straight for the Wildlife Express Train before the park fills up. This is not a mid-afternoon kind of stop anymore. Treat it like a high-priority experience from the moment you walk through the gates.

We’ll absolutely be watching how this plays out when it opens on May 26th and will keep you updated. Stay tuned to AllEars for everything you need to know!

Disney’s likely long-term consideration: A fully built out Australia region of the park with attractions, dining, and retail. That full expansion would bring walking paths for access so the train is not the only access option.
