These Crowds for the FINAL Day of DinoLand SHOCKED Us in Disney World

Today is a sad day in Disney World, specifically Animal Kingdom, because it’s DinoLand’s final day of operation.

DINOSAUR

Today, the rest of DinoLand U.S.A. will close to make way for the Tropical Americas retheme, which means we’re saying goodbye to Restaurantosaurus, DINOSAUR, and the rest of the theming details we know and love. After today, this whole land will be closed off, so we were expecting crowds to be pretty intense on its final day. Let’s just say, we’re still a little surprised!

When we parked at Animal Kingdom and walked up to the park this morning, it was CROWDED! Despite the cold temperatures, we were in wall-to-wall people until we branched off to DinoLand U.S.A.

Main Entrance Crowd

Walking into the park, we noticed that while there still was a large crowd of people who went towards Pandora to rope drop, there was a group that went towards DinoLand as well. About half of the large rope drop group headed towards DinoLand, but it didn’t feel as crowded as we were expecting.

Inside the actual land, the wait time for Dinosaur was 45 minutes. It didn’t look too bad until…

Dinosaur Line

We were looped around outside for half an hour! In the cold! We absolutely love DINOSAUR and are glad we said goodbye, but seriously – if you’re headed to Animal Kingdom today, bring jackets and a hot drink, it’s cold!

DINOSAUR Line

After our ride, we checked the wait time for the attraction, and noticed that DINOSAUR had a longer wait than Avatar Flight of Passage! We’re not the only ones getting our dino today.

DINOSAUR Line

When we checked at 11:30, DINOSAUR was up to a 200 minute wait! For reference, the second longest line at the time was Na’vi River Journey at 65 minutes.

DINOSAUR Line

We checked again at 2 PM to find that the line for DINOSAUR was at 245 minutes, which is four hours and five minutes. Everyone is getting their last ride in today!

Last day!

Closer to the ride’s final moments, AKA right before park closure at 8 PM, the wait time was sitting at 100 minutes. Cast Members even had the “the line starts here” sign outside the queue to instruct people where to go!

Lots of people trying to be on the last ride!

We’re so sad to see DINOSAUR go, but we’re so glad we came today! Everyone faced the cold to say goodbye to one of our favorite Disney rides.

We’ll continue to keep you updated throughout this last day of DinoLand, so stay tuned to AllEars!
