It Could Be Harder To Get Reservations for This Popular Disneyland Restaurant Soon

In Disneyland, there are numerous restaurants and dining spots that are incredibly popular (and for good reason), but one of our favorites is Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar.

Not only is this spot home to some fantastic drinks, but the theming here is unmatched. You’ll order specific drinks and watch special effects happen inside the bar, but you can also sit outside if you want some more space. However, if you’re hoping to grab a reservation here soon, you may find it harder for this ONE reason.

We previously heard a rumor that the inside of Trader Sam’s would be closing for refurbishment. We then stopped into the restaurant to ask a Cast Member and see what was going on.

We spoke to a Cast Member who confirmed with us that the inside of Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar will be closing for refurbishment. The Cast Member we spoke to told us that she expects it to take around two months.

UPDATE: Disney has since updated the website to reflect that indoor dining at Trader Sam’s will close on March 2nd, 2026. It is expected to reopen in time for the 15th anniversary celebration of this popular spot — Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar originally opened on May 25th, 2011. While the indoor seating is closed, outdoor dining will remain available.

Again, there is an outdoor seating area to this bar, meaning that the restaurant itself won’t be closing in entirely. With such limited seating, though, getting dining reservations will be MUCH harder.

Chicken Karaage at Trader Sam’s

This restaurant is located at Disneyland Hotel and is inspired by the world of Disney’s Jungle Cruise attraction. It’s full of trinkets from Trader Sam’s travels, so when you are dining inside, you’ll want to pay close attention to all the details — each trip, you may find something new!

However, due to the inside being closed soon, which is where many of the restaurant’s special effects take place, we wouldn’t be surprised if the demand for this spot decreases slightly until the indoor part reopens. If you are planning to dine here regardless, on the menu, you’ll find a variety of appetizers, salads, entrees, desserts, and a ton of fun Tiki-inspired drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic!).
