REVIEW: Hear Us Out — This Disney World Churro Is PERFECT for Fans of Banana Laffy Taffy

Oh, Disney World churros. You try so hard, and only get so far. Some say it’s the humidity, others say it’s the water, but one thing is almost always true — we’re left disappointed no matter where or when we try them.

So, of course, we had to give the newest flavor from Sunshine Churros at Disney Springs a try. The flavor certainly sounded intriguing — inspired by a classic dessert that we’re pretty big fans of. But can its churro counterpart be a winner too?

We stopped by Sunshine Churros at Disney Springs to try the new Banana Cream Pie Churro, available for $7.99. You’ll get a classic churro split in half, coated in graham cracker crumbs, drizzled with banana cream, caramel sauce, and topped with whipped cream.

This is basically a banana Laffy Taffy in churro form. The banana cream tastes just like the artificial banana flavor in a Laffy Taffy, and then the churros are coated in graham cracker crumbs, caramel sauce, and whipped cream. We got a bit of the caramel flavor and a bit of creaminess from the whipped cream, but the most prominent flavor is the artificial banana.

The churro is a bit dry — like Disney World churros usually are; it tastes like it has been sitting out for a while. Overall, if you like that banana flavor of Laffy Taffy, you will probably like this, but it was a bit of an odd combination in our opinion. We probably wouldn’t get it again, as the churro was dry and the banana flavor was a bit overpowering.
