NEW Construction Permit Filed For Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom already has two entire new lands under construction (Villains Land and Piston Peak), as well as two major rides coming out of refurbishment in 2026 (Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin), but now there’s MORE construction that could be on its way to the park.

Disney just filed a NEW permit for the park that has us very intrigued, because it’s not taking place near any existing construction (it butts up against Piston Peak, but that’s it) — it looks like Haunted Mansion could be getting something new in 2026!

Disney Imagineering just filed a new permit for 1600 Magic Kingdom Dr., which is none other than Haunted Mansion. According to the permit, the company Mecca Productions, Inc. will be working on installing set elements into the ride.

Mecca Productions, Inc. is the country’s leading Halloween fabricator, and is known for making their award-winning projects, bone-chilling haunted houses, and special events. They describe themselves as a full-service design, fabrication, and installation firm located in Central Florida, and “create props and scenery that align with the level of quality that has come to be expected of the world’s most notable themed entertainment venues.” They’ve provided items for theme parks and attractions, museums, and corporate events.

Since the permit expires a year from now on December 26th, 2026, it’s most likely this work will take place sometime in the next year, but Disney has not officially announced anything yet. While it’s possible the ride may close briefly to install the new elements, Disney may also install the elements overnight while the park is closed.
