REVIEW: EPCOT’s Mexico Pavilion Just Mixed Churros with Margaritas and We’re Not Sure How We Feel About It

The Festival of the Holidays is back at EPCOT, and although there are tons of food and drinks to try from all the holiday booths around the park, there are new items available at other spots as well.

Festival of the Holidays

We recently went to EPCOT to try a new churro-themed drink located at La Cantina de San Angel, in the Mexico Pavilion. Is it worth going out of your way to try it? Check out our review to find out.

La Cantina de San Angel is a quick-service spot located at the front of the Mexico pavilion, across from the pyramid. They have lots of delicious food and drinks located here. It’s not a festival booth, so you can visit it year-round.

La Cantina de San Angel

We went to try the Churro Margarita for $18.00. It’s a frozen churro-flavored Margarita that comes with two churros in the drink.

The menu!

We found that after the first sip, the drink was very strong. There’s so much tequila that the only flavor you get is a hint of cinnamon. Even after stirring the drink for a little bit, it didn’t change anything. We really got no churro taste in this at all.

Churro Margarita!

Even the churros didn’t fully taste like churros because they sit in the drink and soak it all up. They still had a faint churro flavor, but not like having a warm churro at the park.

The churro!

We did appreciate the coldness of the drink, and it had a decent thickness to it until it melted a bit. However, the coldness did make the churros harden a little bit.

It looks nice!

The churros were enjoyable, but again, didn’t have a ton of flavor. We will say, the drink does look very tasty. We were getting a lot of eyes coming our way when we were walking around with it.

Let’s take a sip!

All in all, it’s not terrible; there are just many other options around the park that we would go for instead. If you love margaritas, this may be more your style. Also, $18 for this drink seems a little too steep for us — although, with how strong the drink is, you clearly get a lot of tequila for that price.
