We try good food at Disney World, like seriously good food that we’ll be talking about forever (and likely have already gone back and had it multiple times). We’ve also tried some food that we wish we hadn’t. That’s okay, though, because we get to bring you all the details so you know where NOT to stop on your Disney World trip.

November was a busy month in Disney World, including the start of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Jollywood Nights, and EPCOT Festival of the Holidays, which means we tried a massive amount of food. Ready to see what you should skip on your trip?
Starting us off at Jollywood Nights in Hollywood Studios, we tried the Blue Sparkling Cider for $5.49 from the Snack Cart on Sunset Boulevard. This was rather simple and was like blue raspberry as a flavor turned into sparkling cider. There were some fruit notes, and while we think kids will enjoy it, we don’t think most adults will be reaching for this one.

We also tried the Raspberry-Lemon Square for $4.99 at Fairfax Fare for Jollywood Nights. We thought this was rather basic for a lemon square, especially for the price, and the raspberry powdered sugar threw off the flavor balance.

The White Cranberry Margarita for $11 from KRNR The Rock Station during Jollywood was not our favorite either. It tasted like cheap tequila with a slight hint of cranberry that did not leave us wanting to come back for more.

During Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, we had the Holiday Pot Roast Loaded French Fries for $8.29 from Casey’s Corner. There are two versions: this fry dish and a mini corn dog dish with the same toppings — get the corndogs. The fries couldn’t hold all the toppings and were super soggy.

We also tried the “Christmas-style” Chicken Tamale for $12.99 from Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe, which left us wanting more. The whole dish was wildly underseasoned and lacked the homemade feel you usually get when diving into tamales. We would grab this in a pinch, but we promise there are better dishes at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (like the Yuletide Chicken Strips next door at Golden Oak Outpost).

The Snowflake Ornament for $5.79 from Pinocchio Village Haus left us pretty disappointed. While absolutely gorgeous, there wasn’t really the promised cake base, and the only flavor was mild coconut when we just wanted more.

We can’t forget about the Cherry-White Chocolate Slushy for $6.79 at Astrofizz. This drink was, well, weird. It had a fun white chocolate shell to crack, but once you’re drinking Fanta cherry slushy and white chocolate, you realize pretty quickly that nothing matches, and you’re eating sour and chocolate together, which isn’t very good.

During the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays, we had the Tamal de Pollo con Mole for $9 at the Las Posadas Holiday Kitchen. We were looking forward to this new dish, but thought the mole wasn’t very flavorful, and paired with the dry chicken, it is not one we’ll be reaching for again.

We tried the Tuscany Holiday Kitchen, and truthfully, this booth, no matter what the festival is, traditionally isn’t a favorite. The Salsiccia e Peperoni for $8.75 was very dry and basic…

…and the Montanara for $7.50 was soggy and gummy, and the sauce wasn’t able to bring in much flavor.

We also had the Gingerbread Brownie for $6.76 at Gasparilla Island Grill. This treat is to celebrate Christmas at the Grand Floridian, but unfortunately, there’s no gingerbread display at the resort this year due to construction. We were hoping the treat would make us forget about the display, but we found the brownie didn’t taste like gingerbread, and the brownie was a bit denser than we would prefer.

Don’t worry — we eat plenty of great things that we share here at AllEars, too. Make sure you keep following for more!
