Whether you’re a seasoned pin trader or looking to get into the hobby, these tips can go a long way!

Pin trading has been a longtime practice among Disney fans all over the world — including AT the theme park resorts like Disney World! We can totally see why so many fans — including many of us and our readers — have embraced this hobby! Disney pins are creative. They’re adorable. They’re easy to collect and store. And some of them are even very rare and incredibly valuable. Our experiences with pin trading have taught us some valuable lessons, and these tips/rules could really give you a leg up, whether you’ve been pin trading for years or are about to jump into the hobby!
Ask EVERY Gift Shop If They Have a Pin Board
You never know where you might find that pin you’ve been looking for — so make sure you ask at every gift shop if they’ve got a pin board, even if you don’t see one sitting out in plain sight.

Chances are, there’s a pinboard hiding around there somewhere, and you might end up finding something rare or special!

Check at the Front Desk of Your Hotel
Speaking of unexpected places, the front desk of your Disney World hotel likely has a pinboard — one that might not even see a lot of action, which is great news for you.

Since these pin boards likely don’t get used quite as often as the ones in the parks, you probably have a better chance of scoring a pin you haven’t seen anywhere else yet.

Only Trade for a Mystery Pin If You’re Willing to Take a Gamble
Occasionally, you may get the opportunity to trade for a mystery pin, which is pretty exciting since mystery pins can be some of the best ones. But, don’t trade for a mystery pin unless you’re willing to take a gamble — and part with whatever it is you’re trading.

You might end up getting a pin you like less than the one you traded — or maybe don’t even like at all. It’s all part of the thrill, though!
