Congratulations on deciding to sail with the Disney Cruise Line! We often have a blast when sailing with Disney, and chances are you will too! However, keep in mind that when you book your vacation and when you actually sail could impact your overall experience. If you’re thinking of booking a trip right now, we have some tips you should be aware of.

If you’re planning on booking a voyage with the Disney Cruise Line this summer/fall, there are some factors to consider when deciding whether or not right now is the right time to book.

Let’s start with the basics — how early should you book? Per the official Disney website:

“To get the best prices and greater choice of stateroom, we recommend you book your cruise a year in advance if possible. In particular, special itineraries such as our holiday cruises sell out quickly.”

So if you’re booking right now, you’re looking at late-2026 voyages, ideally. Booking a year in advance gives you ample time to plan. It also secures your spot on the ship without forcing you to worry about capacity.

Additionally, later this year, the Disney Destiny is setting sail ( the maiden voyage is on November 20th), and the Disney Adventure bookings open on September 2nd, 2025, for 2026 and 2027 itineraries.

Be advised, though, that Disney has said that the Adventure is basically sold out already for its first two quarters of operation.

New itineraries all the way through May 2027 have already been released, so if you’re looking at trips for the next year and a half, now is the perfect time to book!

The Disney Cruise Line is also offering some timely deals. They are as follows:

  • 50% Off 3rd & 4th Guests on Select Sailings:  Available for select sailings on the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, and Disney Wish between October 3rd, 2025, and March 30th, 2026. The discount will be applied to the voyage fare of the third and fourth guests (as applicable) with the purchase of 2 full-fare guests in the same stateroom. This must be booked by October 12th, 2025. Call the Disney Cruise Line Contact Center to book a stateroom.
  • Save Up to 30% on Select Sailings: Valid for new bookings only and staterooms in the IGT, OGT, and VGT categories.  Full payment is required at the time of booking for all guests.
  • Florida Residents Can Save Up to 30% on Select Caribbean Cruises: Proof of Florida residency required.
  • Special U.S. Military Rates
  • Canadian Residents: Save Up to 20% on Select Sailings

We’ve talked about a lot of the pros of booking right now, but there is one major con: weather. If you plan on booking now and sailing in the summer of next year or the years following, you need to know about hurricane season.

The Disney Treasure!

Hurricane season lasts in the Atlantic from the beginning of June all the way through the end of November — nearly half the year. The inclement weather can create choppy waters, complicate itineraries, or even delay or cancel sailing dates. This time of year is still popular regarding travel because the kids are out of school, but it’s something to be aware of when booking.
