Disney Is Obsessed with Putting Tentacles in Its Treats and We Need To Know Why

So Disney World sometimes thinks way outside the box when it comes to unique snacks and drinks.

For example, the Pickle Shake was viral. Then there was the Gummy Mac ‘n’ Cheese, which was also…a choice. Of course, we can’t forget the long-forgotten Poop Candy that was once available in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. However, one of the most controversial drinks was released during Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration. It was a drink with an octopus tentacle in it…and that octopus tentacle is coming back.

Let’s take it all the way back to 2021 during Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration. At the time, you could order the Squids Revenge drink, which was a Michelada with a Salted Rim, garnished with Charred Octopus and Cucumber. Yes, this drink had an Octopus tentacle in it.

Well, the octopus tentacle is coming back! We just recently got a look at the menu for the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge, Beak and Barrel. And lo and behold, a new octopus tentacle-sporting snack will be available at the bar. The Kraken’s Catch is a cold salad topped with…octopus tentacles! Those tentacles will be marinated in lemon and lime juice and paired with olives, bell peppers, avocado, and Piquillo pepper-almond foam.

This is obviously a snack meant for the more adventurous diners at Disney World, and well, we can’t argue that it doesn’t fit the Pirates of the Caribbean theme of the bar. We’ll be trying it, so you’ll have to come back here on August 29th when Beak and Barrel opens its doors for the first time.

Stay tuned to DFB for more.

  1. I am highly disappointed that Disney has AK and EP preaching to us about all the wonderful conservation they support and then serving octopus tentacles. Octopus farming is so controversial for negative reasons and this is also an environmental concern. Walt was an animal lover. This is not needed here.
