BREAKING: After a 5-Month Closure, This Magic Kingdom Attraction Is FINALLY Open Again!

While Magic Kingdom is full of memorable experiences for all ages, sometimes kiddos need a place to run around and get out that excess energy.

Disney World is an EXCITING place, but we can all agree that letting little ones run wild probably isn’t safe…which is why we’re glad there’s a dedicated place in Magic Kingdom where kids can safely play inside, away from the hot sun. However, this spot has been closed for months now (since February!) with no official opening day in sight, but that’s all changed. We’re happy to report that part of the Dumbo play area is now BACK OPEN!

The Dumbo Play Area is very unique because it has a play area INSIDE the queue for an attraction. It’s a great way to help kids play as they wait for their turn to ride, or you can stop in to play even if you don’t want to take a ride on the attraction.

Sometimes, during busy times of year, you’ll see pagers handed out to parents sitting in the play area with their kids, and when they vibrate, it’s your time to ride. Other times, you’ll just watch the line and decide to pop back in when you feel like it. Either way, you can play as long as you’d like, even if you choose not to ride the attraction afterwards.

So much for kids to do!

However, it’s important to note that the second level of the play area isn’t open just yet, as the netting on the bottom of the netted tunnels has not been put back on. It’s closed off, so kids won’t go up there accidentally, but it is something to be aware of!

No bottom netting!

There’s no full reopening date right now, but we’ll be sure to keep checking back and keep you updated! In the meantime, if you need more Magic Kingdom news, check out our posts below.
