We’ve Got Some Bad News About Hotels in the EPCOT Area

Planning to stay near EPCOT soon? You’re gonna want to read this first.

EPCOT

A handful of your favorite resorts around EPCOT are getting a little less peaceful for the foreseeable future. We’re talking construction, closures, and some pretty noticeable refurb work at two major resorts. Whether you’re a die-hard Yacht Club fan or you’ve got Beach Club booked for the summer, here’s what you need to know before you go.

Construction Taking Over the Beach Club

If you’re heading to Disney’s Beach Club Resort anytime from now through September 2025, you might notice it’s looking a little more… under construction. The resort is getting some routine exterior maintenance, which might not sound like a big deal, but it’s definitely something to factor in if you’re trying to have a calm, quiet stay.

Lots of scaffolding

The porte cochere—the covered entrance area—is closed, so don’t expect that grand arrival moment. Disney says services like valet and luggage assistance are still running, and the amenities will mostly be available, but don’t be surprised if your afternoon pool nap gets interrupted by some construction noise. The work will only happen during the day, but it’s not exactly the peaceful vibe you might be expecting.

Yacht Club Isn’t Safe Either

Just when you thought maybe Yacht Club was your backup plan, bad news. Starting in early July, Yacht Club is going through pretty much the same exact thing. Exterior maintenance is happening all the way through October 2025, and yep, that means their porte cochere is also going to be closed.

Construction at Yacht and Beach

Same deal as Beach Club: all the main services will still be offered, and they’re doing what they can to limit the impact, but you should still prepare for the reality that daytime construction will be part of the experience. If you’re the type who likes to head back to the resort midday to escape the crowds and recharge, just know you might be recharging with the background noise of power tools.

Skyliner Shutdown Is Coming (But Not Yet)

This one’s a little farther out, but it’s a big deal if you’re someone who counts on the Skyliner to get around. From January 25th through January 31st, 2026, the Disney Skyliner will be completely closed for refurbishment. If you’ve got a stay planned during that window—whether at Beach Club, Yacht Club, or anywhere else on the Skyliner route—you’ll need to rely on bus transportation instead.

It’s the Muppets!

Disney will provide complimentary bus service during the downtime, but the whole point of booking a Skyliner resort is, you know, the Skyliner. So if that’s your priority, either plan around those dates or mentally prepare to lose a little bit of that convenience and charm.

Jellyrolls Is Closed

For fans of the BoardWalk nightlife, this one stings. Jellyrolls closed on April 19th, 2025.

Jellyrolls

Whether you were planning a night out singing along to dueling pianos or just wanted to grab a drink in a fun spot close to your resort, that plan’s officially off the table. If BoardWalk was your go-to for a chill evening after the parks, your options just got a little more limited.

A Quick Note on Stormalong Bay

Good news, finally: Stormalong Bay (aka one of the best hotel pools on property) should be reopening any day now after being closed for routine maintenance since January 2025. So while construction is definitely a thing right now at Yacht and Beach Club, at least the pool is expected to be back very soon. Keep an eye out if that’s a must-have for your trip.

Looking great!

We know this isn’t the most magical update, especially if you already have a stay booked at one of these resorts. But this is exactly why we’re here—to help you roll with the unexpected and avoid those unpleasant surprises once you’re already on property. If your vibe is peace and quiet or you’re counting on certain amenities being available, it might be worth exploring other resort options—or at least managing expectations if you decide to stay the course.
