REVIEW: We Found the 5 Best NEW Snacks You Can Grab at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Everybody look left! Everybody look right! Everybody, look, we’re standing in a BUNCH of new treats at Animal Kingdom!

Animal Kingdom

It might be an Animal Kingdom summer because we’ve been trying treat after treat, and let’s just say, you might want to grab a park reservation and head to Disney World right now.

Starting us off, we’re heading to the Harambe Market in Africa to try the Mango Vanilla-Mousse for $6.19.

Mango Vanilla Mousse

This is a tropical fruit-glazed vanilla milk mousse with mango-passion compote and whipped panna cotta. What a win! This was so soft, light, and airy, and had chunks of mango inside, which added a bit of a bite.

Gorgeous

It was on top of a soft graham cracker crust, which added a crunch, and we loved the size for $6, too. The mango flavor is forward, so this is going to be one for the mango lovers! It was easy to eat, felt special and unique, and had a perfect balance of sweetness.

Right by Harambe Market is a snack stand with a yellow bike in front, where we had the Grilled Corn on the Cob for $5.29.

Corn!

It’s covered in African spices, and that’s what took the corn to the next level. Animal Kingdom has offered grilled corn before, and now it’s back, but a little different. They grill it right in front of you, so you know how fresh it is. Once you take a bite of the corn and the seasoning, you’re in for a treat.

Look at that seasoning!

It was salty, with a hint of sweetness, and you could taste spices like curry in it. While it might be hot to eat in the Florida summer, it made us feel like we were at a barbecue with those charcoal-grilled flavors.

Over in what’s left of DinoLand U.S.A., you can find a Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream Sandwich at Dino-Bite-Snacks for $8.79.

Gonna make us miss DinoLand

This treat features strawberry ice cream sandwiches between two strawberry crumble-baked sugar cookies, all dipped in a strawberry crumble. We know that sounds like strawberry overload, and while it is definitely the forward taste, it is not too overwhelming because of the big sugar cookies.

Chunks of strawberry inside

Be warned — it will melt fast! The ice cream had chunks of strawberries inside, which added a fun texture, along with the softness of the sugar cookies and the bite from the crumbles on top.

Next, we headed to Satu’li Canteen to try the Specialty Cold Brew Flight for $8.79. This flight includes cold brew, matcha cold brew, and ube cold brew, all featuring Joffrey’s Coffee Cold Brew.

The flight

We started with the regular cold brew, which had that signature Joffrey’s taste and was slightly sweeter than other cold brew we’ve had.

Traditional Cold Brew

The ube was by far our favorite! It reminded us of an ice cream float with all of the whipped cream on top. Once we mixed it up, there were other elements like freeze-dried strawberries, which added a bite of sweetness, and we were in love.

Ube!

The matcha one will win over the hearts of true matcha lovers, but others may want to skip it. It isn’t overly sweet, but it also features whipped cream and freeze-dried strawberries.

Love a good whipped topping

We thought the sizes of all three were great, and we could have shared them! We loved the ube one so much that we didn’t need the other flavors, and we will definitely be ordering that ube one again in a full cup.

Also at Satu’li, we got the Combination Bowl: Chimichurri Beef and Chili-Garlic Shrimp for $18.79.

Our bowl

The bowl is filled with chimichurri beef paired with shrimp tossed in a chili-garlic sauce, topped with a crunchy vegetable slaw and boba balls, and served with your choice of base. We chose the noodles, along with black beans. To start us off, this bowl was filling — look at the size!

Perfectly cooked

The noodles, beef, and shrimp were cooked well, and the black beans came in a sauce that brought in a bit of heat. It wasn’t overwhelmingly spicy, but it did add a bit at the end of the bite. The boba balls on top brought in bites of sweetness, which we enjoyed, but we did find it a bit strange to have some spicy bites and others that were sweet.

Yum!
