Universal’s newest hotel is ready for LIFTOFF, and we got to try out its primary food spots!

Universal’s Terra Luna Resort, the second of three new hotels that the company is opening adjacent to the upcoming Epic Universe theme park, has joined sister hotel the Stella Nova Resort, and we were on scene to check out the hotel’s features!
Terra Luna, which is “inspired by the thrill of exploring the unknown and pushing the limits of discovery” features 750 guest rooms, exclusive theme park benefits, complimentary transportation throughout the Universal Resort, a pool, a firepit, a game room, and more, an s several restaurant and lounge options, including our focus today, the Moonrise Bar and Grill.

According to Universal, Moonrise is a “sun-soaked, laid-back watering hole and separate grill offering all your poolside favorites” including burgers, quesadillas, and salads, in addition to wine, beer, and cocktails from a full-service bar.
So, what did we think of it?
Moonrise Bar serves drinks, while Moonrise Grill is a separate walk-up window serving food. Keep an eye out for our full review on Moonrise Grill later!

The menu had a full list of specialty cocktails, beers, wines, and even mocktails for people to enjoy at this poolside bar.

For our drink, we grabbed the Stratospheric for $16. We also splurged and added the souvenir cup for $1! It was made with SelvaRey White Rum shaken with banana liqueur, cream of coconut, fresh orange, and pineapple juice.

Before we even started tasting it, we were pretty impressed that the specialty cup was only $1, talk about an inexpensive souvenir! The drink isn’t just pretty, it also tastes good!

It’s a take on a Pina Colada, but it isn’t overly sweet, which we enjoyed. The sweetness balanced really well with the tart flavors that came from the pineapple. The nutmeg on top added to the presentation as well as the flavor, making it a bit more complex and interesting.

It was really easy to drink, and we think it’s the perfect pool drink. We can’t wait to have this drink again and try out even more as we explore the new resort. The bar also had a walk-up station for water (which is much needed in the summertime) as well as free-style Coke machines for anyone needing a soda.

The Moonrise Bar and Grill are MUST-DO for guests staying at Universal’s new Terra Luna Resort if you’re lounging poolside! Stay tuned to AE for more on Universal’s EPIC expansion.

Just stayed at this hotel. We didn’t like it.tv didn’t work, had tech come in he couldn’t fix it. AC very loud, no fan in the bathroom so when you shower the entire room gets very hot. Only good thing about this hotel is you can see Epic and that was it. It is a long bus ride from Universal. We will not stay here again.
