Have you ever flown into the Orlando International Airport (MCO) and wondered what all the balconies were outside of security?

Those balconies are actually for hotel rooms! The Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport is located between Terminals A and B of Orlando International Airport. Some people choose to stay here before or after their trips to Central Florida, but is it really worth the money?
Sometimes, flights arrive super late or take off early in the morning. After a long travel day, it can be nice to leave your gate and just walk to your hotel. While that sounds like a dream, it can actually come true, as the Hyatt Regency is just steps away.

You can simply take the two elevators located right outside of security to the check-in desk. There is even a hotel restaurant directly above security that overlooks the airport. For quite a few reasons, it has become increasingly popular to book a stay at this airport hotel.

As we mentioned before, if your flight gets in late, you have already lost a potential day of your vacation, so why rush to get to your resort? Instead, you can take the night and rest at the hotel in the airport. The same goes for the end of your trip. If you have an early morning flight to catch, rather than having to worry about waking up extremely early and arriving at the airport on time, you can simply spend the night before your flight at the Hyatt Regency.

Many people also choose to stay at this hotel the night before a cruise. On average, from the airport, it takes about 45-60 minutes to get to the cruise ship terminal at Port Canaveral. It is always a good idea to travel the day before your cruise in case you experience any delays. Plus, there are shuttles that can take you from the airport to Port Canaveral.

If you are planning to travel via Brightline, the station is located near Terminal C. You can spend the night at the Hyatt Regency before or after your train is scheduled to leave. While there is a Gatelink to Terminal C, there is also a walking path located right outside of the security area of the main two terminals.

While all of this sounds great, there is a con to this hack. A stay at the Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport is not cheap. Honestly, we were pretty surprised when we looked up the rates! Depending on what type of room you book, a stay could cost you close to $500. So, it is ultimately up to you to decide if it is worth the splurge of money in exchange for convenience. On the same token, you could be saving money by staying at the hotel airport for a night rather than one of Disney’s deluxe resorts.
