These 5 Updates Will CHANGE Your Disney World Game in 2025

Disney World is changing a lot in 2025, and that means there are some new details you need to know about.

Christmas in Magic Kingdom

If you’re not kept in the know for your Disney World vacation, you may miss some updates that will severely impact your trip. Got a trip planned for 2025? Make sure you know about all these changes on the way!

New Water Park Perk

Starting in 2025, a new water park perk in Disney World will allow guests staying at any Disney World hotel the opportunity to visit whichever Disney World water park is open that time of year for FREE on the day of check in!

Blizzard Beach

This is a great opportunity for guests who will be checking in early on their first day but don’t want to pay for a park ticket to only spend half a day using. Disney World’s water perks are full of exciting attractions and dining options, sp don’t write this new offering off just yet until you try it!

Island Tower

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has just opened up a new Disney Vacation Club (DVC) tower, Island Tower, that is STUNNING! You don’t need to be a DVC member to book here, as you can pay with cash or rent points to book your stay, and this very much may be another fantastic offering for you and your family.

Fireworks from Island Tower

Not only is this resort located near Magic Kingdom, it’s close to the Monorail, and also has gorgeous views of the water and of Magic Kingdom’s fireworks.

Animal Kingdom Closures

Coming in 2025, DinoLand U.S.A. will begin to see closures, starting with TriceraTop Spin, Chester and Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Games on January 13th to make way for the new Tropical Americas land.

Fossil Fun Games

Not only that, but It’s Tough to Be A Bug will also be closing to make way for a new show — Zootopia: Better Zoogether! While we’re excited for all these changes, it does mean construction walls will be going up around Animal Kingdom, making travel a little more difficult.

Magic Kingdom Construction

Animal Kingdom isn’t the only park with major construction going on in 2025 — far from it, actually! Magic Kingdom will also be subjected to the introduction of many walls as the Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island will be closing to make way for the new Cars-themed land.

Rivers of America

Villains Land has also begun construction in the park, but as it’s taking up the space behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, the only closure associated with the change so far is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, which will be closing on January 6th for at least a year.

Muppets Courtyard Closure and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Changes

Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be seeing some massive changes as well, most notably being the closure of Muppets Courtyard to make way for the new Monsters, Inc. land taking its place.

The Muppets aren’t leaving forever though! Instead they’re going to be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, meaning this major attraction will also be closing this year to make way for the new theme. Which means watch out for those Tower of Terror wait times — with no other attractions open near that side of the park, we’re expecting those wait times to sky rocket!
