There were some big Disney movie releases in 2024!
From drops like Inside Out 2 and Moana 2 to the more adult Deadpool & Wolverine, Disney fans were lining up at the box office throughout the year to watch the latest and greatest. And if you were among those who went to see the massively successful Deadpool & Wolverine, we’ve got a fun inside scoop for you!
Deadpool & Wolverine released in theaters this summer, and it was massively hyped up, not only as a sequel to the original Deadpool film, but as the return of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. The R-rated movie was known to be raunchy before it came out, but some of the jokes in the film even surprised fans, knowing that Disney ok-ed the script.
But it turns out that not everything made it into the movie! Variety reports that one line was cut from the script of the movie. Ryan Reynolds admitted that one line was cut out in pre-film interviews, but now that line is being shared for the first time. And after reading it, we definitely understand why Disney would have it removed. 😂
The moment takes place after Deadpool learns that Magneto is already dead, and he breaks the fourth wall: “F—! What, we can’t even afford one more X-Man? Disney is so cheap. I can barely breathe with all this Mickey Mouse c— in my throat.”
The line was replaced with a Pinocchio-centric version that’s equally as raunchy, but seemingly less offensive to Disney as a company because it doesn’t directly mention Mickey Mouse. Director Shawn Levy described Ryan Reynolds as being “audacious to the very edge” for his choice of replacement line in the script.
If you want to check out all the other jokes in the film and understand the references, Deadpool & Wolverine is now streaming on Disney+. The movie performed incredibly well at the box office, and fans are still talking about it months later.

I know it has a following, but movies like this in theaters, on Disney+ and shoved in kids’ faces with advertising and merch marketing is the reason Disney is struggling. What’s so family friendly about that?! I love the nostalgia of Disney, the heroes, the fairytales and the innovation, not the filth.
